2010 Pride of your country SOMS (Aston Villa)

Villa are a big mother-ass club. They came 5th last season after really pushing for that 4th spot. I can take them there. I am Gary Neville. This is my first managerial job since my retirement, well, if I get it. I am the favourite after Martin O'Neill left because of the owners trying to handle the transfers. What a team they have, too. Young, Downing, Milner, Agbonlahor, Heskey. All English... Hmmmm..

Cheers mate :).

Chapter 1 - Finaces.\

Hello Gary!

I'd never seen a creepier smile. I went along with him anyway.

I'm Randy Lerner. You qualify for Europe. I give you ten point two five million to spend. Bye-Bye!

I didn't get a word in. I couldn't tell him about my All-English squad plan. Bad start.

Chapter 2 - The first signings.

Hello, Roberto. How much for Joe Hart?

I wanta 3.5 milliona fora Joe, comprendo?

Yes, Roberto. Expect a fax from us shortly.

Whatsa facks?

Like a message through a printer?

You Confuse, Gary.

Okay, Roberto. Bye!

Thank God that was over. I had my eye on Shaun Wright-Phillips, too, but that would be too confusing. I recalled Nicky Shorey from Fulham and young Nathan Baker from Lincoln. We had no 'Keeper and only 2 English Centre-Backs! We had 17 players for our first friendly against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Come on Villa!

Okay Cheers, Noted for the next ones. I think I'll do matches like that and do little things that don't happen in the game with the dialogues. :)

Europa League playoff draw

Aston Villa versus SK Rapid Wien

Rapid Wien. Austran runners-up last year. Should be a tough tie but they'll fear us. We can surely win that one.

Tottenham 1 - Villa 1

Starting XI:

 Hart

L.Young Beevers Davies Warnock

Young Milner Scholes Downing

Agbonlahor Hooper

We should've won. Simple as. We started with a balanced style, and it worked well. Agbonlahor gave us the lead with a bullet header on 58 and I told the lads to defend. We nearly did it. Crouch bent down to head the ball home with 3 minutes remaining and the game was over for us. They were all over us but we held firm to gain a great away draw. Liverpool away next.

Rest of August:

Liverpool 0-0 Villa

Villa 2-0 SK Rapid Wien

SK Rapid Wien 1-2 Villa

Villa 2-1 Fulham

League Position: 14th

Manchester United 0 - 2 Villa

. Hart

L.Young Davies Iriekpen Warnock

Milner Reo-Coker Scholes Downing

Agbonlahor Heskey

Back at my old place, out-gunning Fergie & co. We took the lead through Aggy on 24 after a sublime through ball from Scholesy set him away. We fended off their attacks throughout the game and I brought on Beckford. Once again it was Paulie who set the pacey forward away. He had acres of space and smashed it past Edwin Van der Sar. Get in there!

Rest of September:

Basel 0-3 Villa (EURO Cup)

Villa 0-0 Hull

Sheffield Wed. 0-1 Villa

Portsmouth 0-0 Villa

League Position: 8th

Aston Villa 1 - 2 Benfica

Obviously I'm disappointed with the result, which was our first loss of the season, They were awarded a debatable penalty in the fourth minute when Saviola danced around Beevers who kicked his leg which sent the Argentinian flying. Cardozo hammered it under Joe Hart and made it one nil. I told the lads to keep their balanced shape. However just before half-time Cardozo glanced a header into the far corner from a lovely Di Maria cross. In the 2nd half I told the lads to go more attacking and two minutes in Scholesy scored a peach of a volley to half the defecit. The introduction of Nigel Reo-Coker and Jordan Rhodes for a tiring Paul Scholes and Jermaine Beckford saw us spark into life with Rhodes hitting the post and a lovely Reo-Coker free-kick being tipped over. We couldn't grab an equaliser, though and Benfica went back to Portugal with 3 points and the top spot for Group J. 10 games unbeaten ain't bad going, though. Gaz out.

Next Game - Wigan (H)
