I created this for 2011 and it did so well it became one of the best iOS tactics, I then posted it for 2012 and it had continued success, so I am posting it for you to try in 2013!

Team instructions:

Attacking, Direct, Normal

Pressing - yes, rest - no.

Formation:

4-3-3

Player tactical roles:

GK - Goalkeeper

DL,DR - Wing Back

DC - Central Def

Outer MCs - Adv. Playmaker

Inner MC - Deep Lying Mid

Outer SCs - Advanced Fwd

Inner SC - Target Man/Poacher

What this formation needs:

DL/DR - Attacking

DCs - Strong

Outer MCs - Good stamina, passing and teamwork (AM R/L C preferred)

Inner MC - A strong DMC

Outer SCs - High pace, good teamwork

Inner SC - Strong with shooting/Fast with shooting and positioning

Sadly not at the moment but it's worked since 2010 so hopefully it will again.

I have a fly-through career that I'm holidaying every month so will give it a bash on that for a few years and see

Really good tactic, used it in FMH 2011... However as always I change a couple of things to fit it around the team I'm with!

This work well with my cardiff save, switching from thekraken to this, and no problem. No need long adaptation. Finished 3rd in EPL. =='

Yeah, it still works a treat.

Completed two seasons with Sunderland.

First season, won League Cup, lost in FA Cup Final, Finished 2nd in Premier League.

Second season got to quarters of champions league, won FA Cup, but only managed 5th in Prem.

Recently tried it with Salisbury City, and won the division by about 20+ points.

Still the best tactic I've come across so far tbh.

Cool, gonna try it with Arsenal now. Used this a few times on fm 2012 was good, tho got bummed a few times when playing away

I used this tactic for my out-of-form Walsall side, and they regained their status as league leaders very soon after. Thanks for the great tactic, Dec, it worked really well

Holidaying often gives worse results sadly.

I know this is old but I think I know what holidaying gives worse results, it's due to the game engine running differently, if you set mentality to balanced and with ANY settings you should get pretty good results... Ironically (although that depends on your squad)

Just thought, would there be much difference if i used Mixed passing instead of Direct? Ive started using mixed and only wanted to adopt to direct if im in need of a goal or losing?

I like direct as it means that the transition from defence to attack is quicker but mixed works if you have smart players.

I doubt new player roles will influence existing tactics that much.

Dec, do you reckon this formation could work for Barca, was thinking of using xavi and insiesta as the Apm's, and change one of the Adv forwards to a trequista (don't know the spelling) for Messi?

I don't think Barca have the striker depth to use a 433 at all.

Maybe but then the whole point of a tactic is to work best with the team you have and for Barca that would be a wide formation.

Go for a 4-1-2-2-1, it's basically a 4-3-3 but with a DMC and two wingers instead of 2 extra strikers.
