Every member is called a player, the 2 is your rank out of 5. You are a 2* player, it goes by post count.

Sorry for bumping but my question didn't really warrant a new post. When did the stars change? Before, today I saw one gold star with the number 3 written inside it. Now I see 4 gold stars (I realise the number changed as I made my 750th post today). I'm also seeing black stars I'm thinking this is due to premium/non premium accounts?

I noticed last night. I think you're right about premium/non premium.

They did change last night, the size is pretty much still needing a tweak but you are right with the yellow being premium and black not being.

I like it. At first I thought there was a bit too much going on but it's grown on me.

I thought they had before I read this and I thought I was going crazy. It looks really good now I like it. But what made you want to change in the first place?

I wasn't keen of them and they weren't hosted in house anyway so two went down - Premium 3 and 5. I don't have the .psd on me so I had to either leave it 4 months or update them all.

Basically, the site that hosted the premium symbols for 3 and 5 got messed up some how. And the image of the star with a 3 and 5 in it wouldn't show up and have a bigger symbol that tells you the link is broken.

 

Aka: Symbols go bye-bye. New ones had to replace.

It looks like there's a lot more to hosting a site than is seen.

Sites cannot be made overnight and established within a day and it is true problems do arise.

Maintaining a site isn't as hard as starting one up from scratch. And at this point, I'm sure it becomes automatic with Dec.

How many posts do you need per star? Not that I'm trying to be a star hoarder, I was just expecting to get another star when I hit 1k posts and was surprised that I didn't.

I think it's around 1'200 posts that you get 5 stars but I'm not sure.

I'm guessing about 240 posts per star?

There is no set amount between each one, stars got assigned random values and no I won't tell you.

There is a hidden number which is random (e.g. it isn't 250, 750 as you'd expect).

They are votes by users. Each user has an ability to rate a member out of 5*.
