Series Point of expanding stadium

As the title says, what is the point of expanding the capacity of the stadium? What is the big effect/difference between a club with a stadium with the capacity of 80000 or 20000?

It generates more money for your team, you can't see this money Being made as its a behind the scenes function.

Expanding the Stadium shows that your clubs reputation is going up as more supporters are turning up to watch your team, this would then indicate the potential of buying players of a higher calibre.
