Here we are for one more newsletter, this time in a new format - three months instead of just one! Amazing, isn't it? MerlionMaple96, Ashez and anfieldsquirrel were involved in this newsletter so give your thanks to them for all their work. So, without further ado (I'm on a roll here Maple!) lets get started.

Career Section

May, June and July were fantastic months as far as careers were concerned. Here's a quick recap of the best of the best in the last trimester:

The Race to be Perfect - What Race?, by MerlionMaple96 [Link]

The first attempt at the "Race to be Perfect" Challenge, MM96 takes charge of Blue Square Bet South Dorchester Town as he attempts to bring them to the dizzying heights of the Champions League in a bid to become the Perfect Manager. Aha! But it's not that easy you see. He also has to achieve perfect 20s in all 5 of his managerial stats! Essentially a "Youth-Pride of Your Country-Loyalty" mega challenge, this is surely one to watch out for...

A Viber Honouring Fellow Vibers, by AnfieldSquirrel [Link]

Good guy AnfieldSquirrel is back with his latest career, a challenge started by Graveluth that is built around honouring the community here on Vibe. Follow AS as he attempts to honour all the members here on Vibe by winning trophies with their favourite teams. When will you be honoured? Stay tuned to find out!

Moyes, MM96 and the Great Conspiracy, by MerlionMaple96 [Link]

MM96 returns with yet another career. This time, he finds himself embroiled in a dark, convoluted plot that involves David Moyes' disappearance. Just appointed the new Manchester United manager MM96 is just trying to find his way in the footballing world. A "I Ain't no One Club Wonder" challenge in disguise, follow MM96 as he plunges into a world full of hilarious twists, turns and random events. It's sure to be a good time!

The Young Captain, by Graveluth [Link]

Not many members of Vibe have the guts to take on Dec's Unemployed Challenge. One must be extremely chivalrous (or at least stupidly drunk) to do so. That being said, here comes Graveluth with the latest attempt at the challenge. He of all people possessess the necessary skill-set to take on and conquer this challenge. But can he do it? That's the question on everyone's lips. There's only one way to find out though! Tune in and all will be revealed in the coming months...

He Gets the Ball, He Scores Again! Colin Sale, Rangers Number Eleven, by Ashez [Link]

Yet another one of Ashez' groundbreaking careers, this particular save is truly one of his greatest accomplishments. After reaching the very peak of goal scoring achievement with Callum Paterson, Ashez was not yet ready to be done with the save and chose instead to pursue another 1K challenge with his son! Although not as skilled as many of Ashez' other successful 1K charges, Colin Sale did inherit his father's determination and consistency. Perhaps not the most explosive career ever, the terrific story and sheer excitement felt by readers as they participated in something truly earth-shattering made them come back for more and more. If somehow you missed out on this wonderful career, this is your chance to catch up on a truly brilliant read.

Ashez Attempts the Unemployed Challenge, by Ashez [Link]

Perhaps the most difficult of all FMH challenges, the Unemployed challenge really is a soul crushing and gut wrenching journey of epic proportions. Ashez is certainly no stranger to this insanely difficult having already failed to complete twice in the past two years. With all of Vibe at his back this year however, Ashez is hoping that he can finally breakthrough and conquer was has become the true "Impossible Challenge".

Double Trouble V2.0: Suarez & Cavani @ Barcelona, by MerlionMaple96 [Link]

Although MM96 was forced to end this career prematurely, the fantastic journey of Cavani and Suarez to the dizzying heights of goal-scoring folklore is still certainly worth the read. Over the course of 8 superb seasons, the Uruguayan duo were able to score a tremendous 1055 goals. An intriguing and often encapsulating read, this particular career is certainly worth a once over.

Heights of Glory, by J-Savage [Link]

A fresh idea, this reader involved career was a real standout this month. As the reader, one was paired up with a team from the English Championship. The reader then became a fan of the team and followed its progress over the course of the season. From the ups to the downs, each reader was engaged by this innovative and well presented career and was often caught up in friendly banter with other members.

Home Grown Talent, by Prevalence [Link]

A newcomer to Vibe, Prevalence made an immediate splash with one of this month's most thought out and interesting careers. A Pride of Your Country challenge using the mighty Tottenham Hotspur, Prevalence gives us a fantastic read which is rich with detail. One of the most engaging careers to hit Vibe in recent months, Prevalence deserves his fair share of kudos for this terrific career.

Nothing is Impossible, by the united guy [Link]

Yet another difficult challenge attempt this month came courtesy of the united guy and his attempt at the Impossible Challenge. Although not as "Impossible" as the title suggests it is still not for the faint of heart and the united guy is one brave soul to even attempt it. His results thus far have been simply stellar as well and it would seem that he has a fair chance of completing it. If you haven't already gotten a dose of this fantastic career, I highly recommend you do!

Peely's Golden Oldies Challenge, by Peely [Link]

The journey continues this month as Peely takes on England, France and Wales on the 9th, 10th and 11th stages of his World Cruise. Perhaps, the wittiest and certainly on the most humorous careers on Vibe in recent memory, this career is truly brilliant. Telling it like it is, Peely weaves his magic and leaves the reader feeling entertained, satisfied and wanting more all at the same time

iScout. Do you?, by Graveluth [Link]
iScouts are one of the most popular topics on vibe, but sometimes there are a lack of them. And young Ashez Sale needs as many as he can get for his monthly competition, 'The iScout team of the month competition'. He starts crying himself to sleep if he gets under a certain amount . So everyone's favourite Portuguese, Graveluth, decided to start a career based on getting as many iScout's as possible. He set up a poll so the vibe community could decide where he would be going to first. And the poll showed that the most popular option was Italy!! And he decided to manage Torino, if you want to know why, or how he got on.. Check out the career now!

The return of "The Return of the Hammers", by Merlionmaple96 [Link]
You may all have saw MM's career with West Ham before, it was epic! But he didn't continue it, and honestly I can't quite remember why. But he's BACK in East London!! So Londoners, lock up your doors, lock in your daughters, Because Sir Maple is back to manage the Hammers! In this career he is aiming to win the Premier League and the Champions League within 5 seasons and using NO regens! Can he possibly do this? Maybe. Is he crazy? Absolutely. Check out his career to find out how it's going!

10 Leagues, 9 Old Men and 800 Goals - A H2H Challenge: MM96 VS AS, by MerlionMaple96 and anfieldsquirrel [Link]
We've had head to head's before, and the majority of the time they haven't worked out or finished. But with me and Merlionmaple, we vowed to make the most epic head to head in the history of mankind! So we decided to start Maple's challenge that he posted, as I was really interested in doing it but I knew I wouldn't stick to it if I didn't have something to play against, so i approached MM about a H2H! So far we've posted 5 seasons. So who will win? Who is the best member on vibe ever (me!)? Check out the career to find out!

Nothing is Impossible, by The United Guy [Link]
Impossible? Pah! The United Guy sets out to complete one of the hardest challenges on vibe, the impossible challenge! This hasn't been completed many times, infact I think it's only once! So TUG is starting at Chester in the Blue Square North! So can he get Chester to greatness? And can he go beyond that and dominate 3 different countries within the same save? You'll need to follow it to find out!

Trying to kill 3 birds with 1 stone..., by ManUnitedguy [Link]
So ManUnitedguy starts an adventure in which he attempts to get 3 achievements! He wants to get his retirement message, complete the 1000 goal challenge AND unlock a place on the board!! He will attempt his journey with AFC Ajax from Holland, and his chosen player is Diego Rubio! So how will he get on in this career? Follow it to find out!

Interview Corner

With great power comes great responsibility and with a three month newsletter we need three interviews. The members chosen for these pieces were anfieldsquirrel, Marvels and aykyle. These were long and not all were related to FMH. Hope you enjoy them.

anfieldsquirrel

First of all, thank you for your time to do this. We know you wanted to interview yourself, but no can do mister! So, Lauchlin, why Anfield, and why a Squirrel?

Such a shame!

First of all, my name is not Lauchlin   :P. But basically, if you're talking about my forum name, it's quite simple. The first part, Anfield, is obvious. My favoured English team is Liverpool. I've supported Liverpool since I was 7 years old. It was when they played in the champions league final In 2005 I started. My uncle had a bet on them to win the tournament (he put it on in the group stages) so I went to his to watch the match. By half time he was almost in tears as it would have been a lot of money he'd win. It was 3-0 to Milan at half time, as you'll all remember. But I said as the 2nd half kicked off, 'Chin up Uncle ****, they are going to win this, don't give up'. And the rest is history. As for squirrel.. That is because of my hometown team, Kilmarnock. I've been a supporter of Kilmarnock all my life and have had a season ticket since I was 5. In the last couple of years I've started going to every away game also. My most dedicated trip was when I went to Inverness away on the bus, Wednesday, 13th February 2013. It was a freezing winters night and there was only 56 Killie fans at the game. We played AWFUL all match. We were losing 1-0 the full game, but then in the 91st Minute one Borjá Perez popped up to score the equaliser!! We were almost on the park, but the stewards and police stopped us. And basically the squirrel is the main mascot of Kilmarnock, there's even 2 on the badge.

Why did I assume that was your name? Oh well, poor background research from this interviewer! So, you go to every Killie game. That's impressive. Not many fans like you, I'm sure. Would you go abroad if Killie got in the European cups? If you don't mind, I don't want this interview to be related to FMH. We want to know the man behind the nickname instead.

My name, is Lochin   :P. No, Killie have a small regular fan-base compared to most teams. But I like it that way, I know everyone that goes to games. I mean, it's not minuscule attendances.. But the most we take to away games is 2,000 usually.. Sometimes 3,000.. That's only to St mirren though. But usually if we go somewhere like St Johnstone, Aberdeen or Inverness well take a few hundred  . If we get into Europe, I wouldn't miss it for the world. Because when you support a club as small as Killie, Europe is a rarity and you never know when it'll come along again. As you may know, Killie haven't been in Europe since 2001. No worries, I'd rather people got to know me better   :).

Lauchlin, Lochin...all the same to me! 2000 is very impressive, for Portuguese standards. Only a few clubs can brag of having that attendance on away games here. I believe you mentioned before you play as a keeper. You do it just for fun or do you actually play for a club? And why keeper?

We have quite embarrassing attendances regularly though. Yes I am a goalkeeper. I play for a local youth team. Not the best team, but I joined them to help out. I fell out with the coaches at my previous team, we won the league and Scottish youth cup when i was there, but the coaches were being twats so I left. I've been promised a trial with Kilmarnock when I turn 18. I don't know why 18, but yeah. I'm not sure how I came to be a keeper, it's just the position I feel most comfortable in   :).

Which team, out of curiosity? Does Killie have a youth team? Couldn't you get a trial with them?

The team I'm with now, Barleith. The team I was with, Bellfield.. They've since merged with another team to be called something else though, but I can't remember for the life of me their name now.. Yes Killie have a youth team, but getting a pro youth contract is almost impossible if you don't know anyone in the youth setup.

You seem to always have a positive vibe (no pun intended) and take a humorous approach in every single reply you do. Are you always this positive and cheerful in real life?

I like having a laugh on vibe, as it makes us seem like more of a community! Me and Ash regularly have digs at each others career and so on, but we usually know how each others careers turn out before anyone else because we update each other in our PM Convo which has over 5,000 replies  . But tbh, I'm not that cheery a person tbh, the only time I'm happy is going to Killie games and spending time with a girl I'm really close with now (no, not Amber for youse that know about her, stalkers!!!). But I try my best   :P.

So Lolchin, to end this interview which is long already. Name your top 3 Killie players, top 3 Scottish players (you can repeat from Killie if you want) and top 3 world players.

I assume you mean Current.

Kilmarnock: Well, my 3 favourite players are leaving this season   :( so my 3 favourite current players that will be playing next season are: Kris Boyd, Craig Samson and Manuel Pascali.
Scotland: Charlie Adam, Jordan Rhodes and Steven Fletcher.
World: Cristiano Ronaldo, Yaya Sanogo and Robin Van Persie (yep he's man united, but he's left footed, like me).

I just realised I spelt my own name wrong  . It's actually Lochlin where as I wrote Lochin Silly squirrel!

Shame on you...

I can't believe I done that  .

You know all this is going in the interview, right?

daayyyyuuuummm!

Marvels

Hello Marvels. First of all, congratulations on winning June's edition of Member of the Month. Did you expect to be nominated?

No, not at all, I was really surprised and after a re-vote went out I didn't really follow it.

Well, you were leading before the re-vote as well. Seems the Vibe community wanted to thank you for your hard work on the Editor. How much time  did you put into it, have any idea?

To much time! When I first worked on it and did the initial few releases I was at it all the time, much to the displeasure of my other half. Literally every evening. As the last few releases have been stable I've been able to take my time over it, I may look at it a 2-3 times a week for an hour or two, unless I get a brainstorm.

Are you a programmer in real life? Or is this just a hobby?

Yes, I'm a developer in real life for a multi-national insurance company.

A multi-national insurance company. Who can be more demanding, your employers with your work or the Vibe members with their suggestions/demands/requests for the Save Editor?   :)

Defiantly my work takes precedence, it's my bread and butter. Only recently has the SE gotten into a position where I'm able to take requests/wishlists. Though I'm always quick to fix a bug, else the application become redundant.

And when did that passion for programming appear?

I studied Music and Sound Technology at University, I specialised in interactive audio, specifically for computer games. For my last year's major project I teamed up with a couple of computer programmers and we built a cross platform 3D Pac-Man game for both xbox360 and PC. The cool thing we did we use the XNA framework which at the time was brand new, so new that Microsoft hadn't released any help files. I was in charge of all audio aspects. This was my first "taste". In reality in job's career lead me down the programmers path. Initially working on VBA and SAS before we changed our technology platform so its .NET and SQL. I'm the typical example of someone who is self taught and "learnt on the job", I've released multiple in-house applications.

I think it's like that with most jobs, computer related or not. College/school only gives you the basis and the theory but you only end up putting it into practice while working. So, you've created the save editor for FMH, but do you actually play the game?

I have to admit I don't very much. I bought the game and within a couple of day's I googled for an Editor (yep, I like "cheating"..I'm a sucker for healing/morale boosting)..I found there was one for FMH12 but not for the version I just bought so went away getting a SE out there. This really did take a lot of my time up so I ended up coding a SE more than playing the actual game! The most I think I've played it was for 2-3 seasons, a Vibe member gave me  save so I could test swapping teams, I swapped AC Milan for Leeds and played a few season to make sure it was ok...I ended up going on holiday for the first season, getting sacked as Man Utd managers (no love lost there!) and then getting a job at QPR, after a couple of seasons I deleted it as I ended up testing new SE features. Maybe if there was a SE out already it would have been a different story!

Seems like you'll have to do a FMH14 SE as soon as the game is out in order to have more time to play the game   ;) What about real life, which team do you support?

Hopefully FMH14 won't be to different to FMH13 in terms of save structure. There were minor differences between 12 to 13 and I expect it to change again. If you look at all the editors for PC FM when a new game comes out they are able to update pretty quick as in general terms once you have the structure down it comes down to slight tweaks. With FMH12 to FMH13 they actually added in some extra information so i expect 14 to follow this progression. I'm a 3rd generation Arsenal supporter.

Can you name your top 3 current and former Arsenal players?

Dennis "Iceman" Bergkamp, Thierry Henry and Liam Brady (no particular order).

Well Marvels, thank you for your time. Vibe members will get to know a bit more about the person behind the Save Editor. Once again, you more than deserved the Member of the Month.

Thank you all for your votes. It's humbling.

aykyle

Hey Mr. Changes, thank you for taking your time for this little interview. So, you're an american who doesn't like american football. How can that happen? Which sport is your favourite?

Thanks for having me, Grave. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I love American football, I grew up playing and watching it. So when I say I don't like American football, I'm actually talking about soccer. I know everyone hates the word "soccer", so I avoid it at all costs   :P

I guess I understood it wrong then. So, Peyton or Eli?

Definitely Peyton. I'm a Philadelphia fan, so I naturally hate anything to do with New York.

Big Ben then   :P "American" football is my second favourite sport after football actually. Hope to have the chance to see one game in my lifetime. Not likely though. Apart from "american" football, do you follow any other sports?

haha That's pretty interesting   :P I watch football as often as I can. But I don't really "follow" other sports, I sort of keep tabs on baseball and basketball. Checking in on certain team records every now and then.

We've talked about watching, what about playing?

Which sport? We've talked about multiple ones lol

All of them   :P

Well, I started playing American football when I was 4 and continued to play it until I was 15. But in between that period I've only played baseball for a year(wasn't that good at it   :P).

I haven't had a chance to play football(soccer), though. I grew up in a family that hated it so I never really had the chance to. Plus, I've never liked the sport up until last year(regretfully, because it's awesome).

I always had the feeling that if I went to the States I'd be a soccer star, even with my average-ish skills   :P. So, American football, which position? QB? Defensive tackle? Wide receiver? Tight End? (just want you to think that I actually know some of the positions)

Haha you probably would be! Nice football knowledge you have there   ;) Growing up, I was always the tallest kid. Tall and lanky. So I played a lot of positions. I mainly played defensive end and offensive guard. Sometimes even running back! Pretty odd set of positions   :P.

I actually prefer the Running Back position. I'm fairly quick, 1.85m, 85kg. Or in your terms, 6'1, 187 pounds. Would I do ok as a running back?

Well, it's speculated that the "perfect" height for a running back is 5'10, so you're just about there, height wise. Weight wise you'd have to gain about 20 more pounds of muscle   :P. Unfortunately for me I'm 6'4 and only weigh about 190 lbs. So I never was the best running back and my team didn't have wide receivers(they only ran the ball).

I'm sure this conversation is very interesting to the rest of Vibe. Better move along! So, back to soccer, which are your favourite teams?

I don't really have a "favourite" team. But if I had to choose, I'd have to go with PSG. Mainly because it's the first team I've managed(for more than a season) in FMH, ever. So I've grown attached to the team to say the least   :)

So you overlook the world's best team (FC Porto) in favour of the french. Shame on you. Shows how much you know about football!   :P I kid', I kid'... But, why not follow an American team? Sure, the quality of the game isn't the same, but come on, New York Red Bull has Henry. Even if you hate the NY teams, he's still an amazing player and must put on a show. Does Phillie have a soccer team?

haha, they're a great team as well. But I'm not sure I get matches from Portugal   :P

I would follow it. But I like to know the team before watching. I like to know the manager, the players playing. How GOOD the players actually are. I like watching teams from Germany or England and being able to point out which players are quality. And I know I could just do research online, but that's boring and tedious. I learned everything from FMH. And if FMH ever has the MLS as a playable league, that's when I'll start following them   :P I follow the USA national team though! That should be good enough   ;)

And yes they do! Philadelphia Union! Although they aren't so good   :P Currently 4th in the Eastern Conference(out of 10 with 5 teams moving to the play-offs). And I know what you're thinking: "You know the league table, surely you must follow it!". Well, truth is I've seen it while browsing the ESPN site yesterday   :P

I honestly believe that if you really started following Philadelphia Union you'd change how you feel towards the MLS. Do us all a favour and give it a try   :P So, favourite soccer player and favourite american soccer player? I apologize to the readers for the use of soccer but we've already talked about the two kinds of football and I don't want to keep on writing 'american' football.   :P

haha. I'll watch the next game then   ;)

Well. I would have to say Yassine Benzia of Olympique Lyonnais. Which is my obvious choice for anyone that's seen my goal challenge career.

But favourite american player would probably be Michael Bradley. He's a great player. First American to play for Roma. And it doesn't hurt that he was born in New Jersey   :D

And here I thought it would be Alexi Lalas... He sure made an impression in the 1994 World Cup, not because of his skills though   :P Will we be seeing a 1KC with an American before FMH14? Would be a shame not to do it. I did my Portuguese 1KC. I'm sure Ash did an English guy at some point...you're missing out.

haha You probably won't see another 1kc out of me for FMH13. American or otherwise   :P. I haven't found the right player to do one yet(Jozy Altidore is too obvious   ;)). Regardless, I usually jump from one changes.txt project to another so I haven't played FMH(except for the CC) in a while. But who knows, things could change   :)

I'm sure there could be another option out there. Would still be good to see you attempt it, even with Altidore, perhaps in a São Paulo team for the extra games due to his age. You mentioned the changes.txt. Do you actually play the game with the changes you implement or do you just do it for the community?

Ah, alright. After I'm done my current projects, I will do the research on either the 1kc or the Pride of Your Country challenge   :)

And I'm ashamed to say this, I've never actually played more than one season with the projects I've done. It's not that I don't want to play them, it's because I'm always busy with real life stuff or working on the next project to actually sit down and play the things I've helped create. I'm hoping to change that soon and sit down and play everything I've assisted in releasing   :) Maybe even make a career with one of them.

We would love to see it. While it's noble to do all this for others we must still enjoy what the game has to offer. Well, this interview has come to an end. Hope you enjoyed this exchange. Thanks again for taking the time.

haha That we do! And it was my pleasure   :)

Do you know that anfieldsquirrel said his own real name wrong in his interview?

lmao seriously? How'd he say it?

Lochin, while it's Lochlin. I don't even know how to say either of these properly. He should get a real man's name, like Ashley.

I think it's pronounced Lock-lin. But that's embarrassing.. how do you even do that lmao.

He needs to do a youtube video saying his name.

lmao. I'd say that's true, but the world needs to hear LESS of his phone sex operator voice. Not more

Cracking work :).

God, I'd recommend no one to read the end of Aykyle's interview!!

Btw, it's 'Loch-Lin' that's literally how you say it. But that only sounds right for a Scottish person.. So for you 'Lock-lin'.

You know nothing Jon Snow!

Hope you guys enjoy the interviews. They're actually quite interesting :P

Just for that, this newsletter has become twice as awesome.

I enjoyed the interviews, but who really cares about the yanks' HandEggball?
