I like what you've done here, you not only give advice but you've brought a group of strangers from all walks of life together in one place, not many people can say they've achieved that.

As for the content, Dec's tactics, training and what players to look for is dynamite as is every one else's contrabution ( hope I spelt that right)

If I could create stuff to download to the game then I would but I just don't know how to, UKFootballScore's legends database although I doubt I could do better.

What I'm trying to say is people like me need this community and I'd be very sorry to see it go.

Please don't loose faith!

That's the spirit mate! :D

So let's talk about the Football Manager Mobile 2016 Community shall we? There has been a bit of discussion since I posted a video on it and a lot of confusion. I am hoping to clear this up today.

Firstly let's look at the video...

https://youtu.be/jgyqRvbzyIo

The video mentions there's many reasons on why the Community is failing and after producing it I decided to put together a simple list so you can all see the many problems we are facing. I would like to iterate this isn't just this site or the Social Media relating to this site this is YouTube, other Facebook groups and Social Media that national groups use (e.g. Naver for Korea).

Reasons why the Community is failing

General  -

Game is similar to that of previous versions

More people leaving than joining that create content

Game is far away from FM and unable to attract that passionate audience unlike in 2007

Audiences now are less proactive

Mobile game stigma

Bigger sites covering most FM topics that also covers FMM too such as Wonderkids on Squawka

Not a big support for FMM on SI's Social Media feeds

Websites -

Facebook/Twitter mean users want information quicker

Audience fragmentation due to Social Media

Rise of Mobile usage makes content creation harder

No reward for posting due to lack of passion throughout community - no monetary value or sense of feel good from comments

Social Media -

Facebook algorithm stops users seeing everything

Game is repetitive so less variety of content

Rise of video/gifs

Likes more prominent than comments

Casual content more preferred that hardly relates to the game

YouTube -

Game is boring to watch without heavy editing

People lose interest quickly

Most content is already done in written form that is informational

So what can we do?

The first simple thing is to get involved. If you like something whether that is a Facebook post, a topic, a download or a guide then like it and drop a comment weighing in.  Say well done and how much you enjoyed something to a content creator, it will make their day and lift their morale to make more. If you have something you want to talk about then start a discussion as I'm sure others will want to as well. Get people talking about the things you are passionate about in the game.

The other thing is to of course create articles, downloads and design. There are lots you can do with the game. The game isn't just a game but a research tool into the footballing world and a good reference that you can use. I have prepared 5 different examples of the type of written content that can be produced fairly quickly and can be fun to prepare. These are all Football Manager articles but also translate to Football Manager Mobile too.  They are not the only ideas you can do but examples and if you have an idea we urge you to try it. Use this as inspiration not a rulebook please.

For downloads and design use your imagination there are so many possibilities but play to your strengths. Love graphic design? Make a logo or facepack or a skin. If you are an avid coder then try and use an Editor or edit around the game to change something.

The last thing is to share what you enjoy. If you think someone deserves recognition go onto a FMM Facebook group you are a part of and share it, or link it to your friends. Get the word out there to help and inspire others.

Communities that are out there

Now I would like to share with you some communities that I recommend regarding Football Manager Mobile 2016. Let's all band together. Before starting a site or a blog or a group, think if there is somewhere that could use your support and time first. Establishing an audience is very hard and if there already is one they will appreciate your effort and it will be better for all! If you are involved in any of the communities below then post this on there please and tell the owners to get in contact with me if they want to help. Thanks.

Final words

If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I am really happy to continue this brilliant discussion that we've been having over this and want as many people to get involved as possible.

I'd like to thank everyone for commenting, viewing, reading and getting involved to show the FMM Community isn't dead just yet, however this isn't a quick fix. It will need long term commitment and drive. The true test will be over the next few months so please keep showing your passion.

To get this seen let's use the #ReviveTheFMMCommunity on Twitter when talking about this. But any contribution, even the smallest such as commenting on a disccusion when on the toilet would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dec

Thank you for the mention Dec.

I am going to be far more active on here. I am always available for a chat to help get ideas of the ground or lend a helping hand.

The links Dec has put up are all things that can easily be converted in to FMM content.  If you have been managing a team and have really enjoyed it produce a guide on how the club was when you found it and what you did to make is successful.

I guess most of you on here are like me an play lots of save then after 1 or 2 seasons you might lose interest so you don't want to do career posts that fine. You can do loads of one season challanges and other type of content.

You could just start as a team for one season. Then resign and take over another team then resign to keep this fresh.

I know the game isn't the step up we wanted but there is a big enough community we can make some great content.

There are so many people that play the game that might not know about Vibe so we need to spread the word on Social Media.

Also if you like a post or have enjoyed reading it let the person know so they keep going. It can be really disheartening when you spend time producing content and get nothing in return.

Let's make this community great again #ReviveTheFMMCommunity

Woah I didn't really expected this. I did spent about 8-9 months in this site and had a nice time (from IEs to guides to crazy banter) but seeing everyone leave made it harder for most of us to stay tbf! Honestly college life caught me up well and FMM is too boring to do anything new, FMC is a far better option. But that's just my opinion. Hopefully the site will do well again.

This has been happening since at least 2014 but it is bigger than just this site.

FMT has less of a community and potential than FMM due to the limited devices it is on and the vast crossover with FM, as well as the restrictions with downloads. Least FMM sells well, from a game perspective you are right but not community.

Yea but I didn't really bought up about any community for FMT. FMT is the closest you can getto Fm and it doesn't gets boring unlike FMM. I mean I certainly won La Liga in my 3rd season w/ Llegostera if this isn't a joke then what is?! Honestly from my perspective I don't wanna play a game which makes the exact signings for AI almost everytime, few seasons and a crap club can become the next big thing, you can win Bundesliga w/ Leverkusen and Schalke in your first season. The game is too simple and once you start on a roll it's really really difficult (Almost Impossible) to get off the track unlike IRL, I mean take a look at Leicester and Chelsea also whatever happened w/ Dortmund last season. But that's just my point of view. What happened to this community? Well I'd say I would have still contributed and I bet the others would have too if this game was a bit diverse.

And for some weird reason the format is breaking up!

Fixed formatting and yes that is fair enough but we are talking about community not how good the games are, it is no contest. The way I took it is you saying change to FMT which wouldn't make any sense. We may as well go full FM if that was the case.

Obviously the issue you have bought up is one I mentioned but isn't the only reason. New players wouldn't know this, they are missing which is worrying.

Well yea you took it the wrong way! I definitely don't mean to go from FMM TO FMT but if you could ask the developers (watched the vid and you mentioned you have contacts with SI) to make this game less linear and a smarter AI that would be nice. I am not expecting huge DBs or 1-2 new leagues all I am asking is FMM needs to diversify itself that's it!

Trust me I have been for years. Whether they will or if they can even achieve that in one game cycle is a different matter. The game hasn't helped these matters but it isn't the singular problem.

I bet you are but just out of curiosity ever had some sort of crisis like this? I remember back that time the site was more active even during the later stage of the season than it is now.

I guess more contents garner more new players I wasn't a new player but the contents got me here and for some reason I believe less linearity will bring in more contents but that's just me.

I guess getting a "smarter A.I" for FMM shouldn't be a problem and I am pretty sure the smartphones will match it's configuration but that's up to the dev team it was just my suggestion.

It isn't just here, it is the community as a whole - Facebook, Twitter, SI Forums. But no this has never happened before. This has been something that has been developing over a number of years.

Hopefully new content may get new players and that's why we should all try and work on some content or work on community initiatives!

Well I believe getting stuff planned and working according to it always helps. It helped me too during content creation. And I guess this year is a bit awkward in some ways. Certain crisis, Liverpool's heartbreaking comeback and Leicester winning the PL. :D

I know I'm a Chelsea fan and I was on edge throughout that match hoping that Chelsea would get a draw or better! and Mark Selby has won Snooker World Championship and he is from Leicester

p.s. I may have something in the pipeline ;)

The problem with significantly increasing the difficulty of the game in terms of AI quality is that the vast majority of FMM players are relatively casual and for the most part play in 10-15 minute sessions while commuting or similar. I personally feel like '15 was slightly tougher than '16 and we had a lot of negative feedback from more casual players claiming it was impossible to do well.

We have to somehow walk the tightrope between making it too easy for the hardcore players and too difficult for the casual - and especially on mobile where people have much lower attention spans, if we go too far towards the difficult side people lose interest extremely quickly. We're listening, though!

For me it boils down to 2 simple things.

1. Vibe itself is so slow. Back when it had a makeover last year things grinded to a halt, it takes forever to navigate around threads. I use a desktop, Android and iPhone and its all the same slow sluggish speed. I used to visit here 6 or 7 times a day, read, contribute and comment. Now I probably look in 3 times a week, get annoyed with waiting for pages to load and log off again. I said it at the time of update and was told the speed issue was temporary. It can't be just me can it?

2. Places that revolve around a specific thing will live and die depending on the quality of that product. The product (FMM16) just isn't good enough. This release was a lazy effort and it may appeal to new players but it is nowhere near acceptable as a stand alone game, £2 as an update to FMH 15 then fair enough but adding crap coaches and a few new tactic tabs (that don't appear to do anything) and selling it as a new game is laughable.

A cracking FMM17 would see people's passion return over night, unfortunately with full fat FM and FMC (or whatever it's called) to concentrate on I fear FMM will always remain an afterthought.

We regularly do speed tests using Google and they classify the speed as very good. The speed after the upgrade was slow but we managed to stabilise it and load times are now less than a second per page. It sounds like your internet to be honest.

Works, homes, friends wifi plus mobile internet. All using different devices??

Although if pages load up in less than a second for everyone else it must just be me.

Ps

12 seconds from pressing the star to actually seeing 'new content '

Everything loads up in well under a second.

Tbf what I would like to see in FMM17 [or PC Version] really is:

• Manager Wage and Contract with fines for leaving a club early

• More in depth Finance. I.e. Club Balance, Turnover, Signing Sponsorships

• Ability to invest into Clubs [Like Gary has done] - with wages earned with possibility of making a loss

• One more playable league, It's been quite a few years since a new one!

• Ability to Choose more than 4 leagues with a test system similar to the Engine System to see if your device can handle it

• Loan and Future Fee

• Buy Back Clause

• Easier to add new Extra content with possibility to get Content [Downloads] approved by SI

That's all I can think of rn

@DecIs there no way of helping SI via advertising the full FM and FMT games on this site? Maybe some type of promo code! and in return for the extra advertising  @Alari SI could ask people to sign up to vibe.community when purchising all forms of FM. Obviously not all would look at this site but I bet alot more would especially  If you add tactics, chat ,players etc for FM and FMT. I play on all FM versions and i find your site @Dec  better than most! Your site would quoduple overnight, well once the new game goes out anyways!

Bigger family!?.

Sadly I don't think that is the solution. This is more than just the site, it is about the FMM Community and adding more games would mean my time would be dedicated to the bigger games where there is more competition.

Can you not let/sell a small place on here for advertising eg bbc sport, sky etc. That'll give you the funds to be able to spend more time on here!

Money isn't an issue, we live in our means.

Game sales are there, it is still doing well on the iTunes charts, just the type of people we have been attracting and every other FMM Community aren't as productive. We are seeing a huge lack of discussions and content.
