Chat Player medical bug?

Playing as Everton, signed Will Hughes from Derby for £6m plus Darren Gibson in exchange.

Prior to the bid, Darron Gibson fractured his ribs and is out for 3 months, however the transfer went through ok. I seem to recall in FM16 that even exchange deals are subject to a medical - I would have thought the player would fail a medical with a 3 month injury? 

I have a save from the point at which the bid was accepted.
