Background Of The Club:

Aberdeen are a Scottish team that play in the highest tier of Scottish football, the SPL (Scottish Premier League) they were formed in 1903 and they play at the Pittodrie Stadium which holds 22,199 people, and was also the first stadium to feature a dugout. The team has not won any silverware since 1995 and it's your job to change that.

Board Expectations:

The board gives you two options to choose from at the start of the season. You are offered 'Continental Qualification', which will give you £37k per week wages and a £3k transfer budget, or you could take up the daunting prospect of overthrowing The Old Firm and becoming 'Winners' of the SPL, giving you £42k per week wages and and a £3.5k transfer budget. I would suggest taking the 'Continental Qualification' option, as winning the SPL first time round with a team other than Celtic or Rangers is always difficult.

Meet The Squad:

Goalkeepers:You have four Goalkeepers when you start up the game, Jason Brown, David Gonzalez, Jamie Langfield and Przemyslaw Lukasik. Out of those four, you have three who are easily good enough for the SPL standard, Brown, Gonzalez and Langfield. Gonzalez probably edges the three, but he is the loan keeper and you will only have him for a season. It is then up to you for who to pick as second choice, but their stats are so similar I wouldn't bother worrying. Lukasik is the remaining goalkeeper, he is only 17, and although his stats aren't exactly 'good', he is a great prospect for the future and I highly recommend you keep him.

Defenders:

The Aberdeen defence is reasonably strong, but may be somewhat stretched when it come to full backs. You have four players capable of playing in right-back, and one of those is your only decent left-back, Richard Foster. It is quite a young defence, Ryan Jack and Jack Grimmer are 19 and 17 respectively, and only one defender is older than 25. I think that Richard Foster is your ideal man to be playing in left back, and Rory McArdle should probably be taking up your right back role. Andrew Considine and Youl Mawene are both strong centre-backs, so they should be your pick of the bunch for playing in central defence. You also have Joseph Shaughnessy, a 19 year old who has been sent on loan to Forfar Athletic. I suggest that you keep him there unless you get a lot of injuries.

Midfielders:

You have a large midfield - 13 players to be precise, however a lot of them are still teenagers - Jordan Brown, Fraser Fyvie, Jamie Masson, Stephen O'Neill, Ryan Fraser, Clark Robertson and Nicky Low. All of these players have potential, I recommend you keep them all, and gradually work the better ones into your team. Stephen O'Neill looks the least promising out of the lot, if you are looking to trim down on your player count. Robert Milsom is probably your best centre-midfielder, with Kari Arnason close behind. I would reccomend them, if you are playing a midfield with two centre-mids. Isaac Osbourne is a good player to play out wide on the right, or you could play Peter Pawlett if you prefer younger players. I would recommend Clark Robertson on the right, he's seventeen and he has pretty good stats as well.

Forwards:

You have six strikers to choose from, so you will never be short of strikers. All of them are good as well - so it's not an easy choice. Scott Vernon, Rory Fallon, and Josh Magennis are all good stikers of a similar standard - with Mitchel Megginson and Mohamed Chalali almost equally good as as well - it really comes down to person preference for this one.

Mohamed Chalali - £400k

Rory Fallon - £85k

Darren Mackie - £100k

Josh Magennis - £130k

Mitchel Megginson - £9k

Scott Vernon - £425k

Possible Transfers:

Sol Campbell - No Club

Sol would be a good player to use for a season or so, he's 36, but could be a leading figure at the back if you snap him up.

Transfers are limited in your first season with your low transfer budget, I suggest signing Sol and getting on with the season - you have a strong squad already.

Formations:

Gonzalez

McArdle - Considine - Mawene - Foster

Pawlett - Milsom - Arnason - Robertson

Vernon - Fallon

The 4-4-2 seems to suit this team very well, it just fits the player positions perfectly. This is recommended.

Gonzalez

McArdle - Considine - Mawene - Foster

Milsom - Arnason - Folly

Vernon - Fallon - Mackie

A lot of people seem to prefer a 4-3-3 over anything else, an example of one that could be used for Aberdeen is above.

Aims:

You should be aiming to make this team win all domestic cups while challenging heavily for Europe if you stay long enough.

Thanks for reading, I hope this helps, please leave your thoughts below.

It looks stupid with it in though, I tried. The players who don't have pics are crap anyway, so it doesn't really matter :)
