Welcome to the regen thread, a place for you to learn about regens or ask who one is, any questions just ask.

Here are 2 guides, one by me and one by ManUnitedguy.

My Guide:

So, you're in the market. Looking for your next star striker. You set it to the most valuable first. You look and you see... Maxime Bourillon. You squint your eyes and say 'Who is he?', You look at his history, Wait, It only goes up to 2013/14. This must me wrong. If only I got him earlier, The thought comes into your mind... Wait, how was he made. Sorry to say. It wasn't the way you're thinking.

This player is known as a regen. Every player in the game, when retired. They come back to life as a different allias to become a criminal for the rest of his life. He changed his name, age, and sometimes his nationality. That is practically what a regen is.

But what a regen keeps is his positions and his PA, The CA although will be random. This means your player can start of as a world star or as a player not fit for the blue square south. But that is for you to change. The earlier the regen is into his career. The cheaper he will be. Which is why I recommend you follow this guide to get the most out of your regen.

What to do:

So, these are the best steps to make the most out of your regen, but what you need to do first is find his.If you are finding him based on the season after hes retired. Your search perimeters should go like this...

Name: Blank

Age: 0-21

Wage: Blank

Value: Blank

Contact status: Blank

Transfer status: Blank

Position: (Which area of the field your certain player plays in. E.g. Forward)

Side: His preferred side. (Where the bright green is on his positions)

Only interested players: No.

(If you cant find your player change the 0-21, still cant find them, look at the different nationality)

What this will do is broaden down your search without all the hassle of picking certain attributes.

Afterwards I would sort this by nationality, this is in order of a-z so if hes from England stick to the front. From Wales. Try going backwards.

Next look at he specific positions. If you have the perimeters put in for Giggs. You should be looking for a AM LC. One fount you should double check the positions. It should be like so:

ZBNmPWb.png

What a bargain that is. A value of £14k for a player that will be the same or as good as Giggs.

Most people think once signed they should put him on I.T and play him. Depending on the level of your club, at first he may not be good enough for first team. Although the game time is good.

So, what are the best players regen's to buy?. Check out Decs best players to regenerate shortlist

Lastly, There are a few players who have the same positions. The only way to tell without using the save editor, is by checking to when they were in the game. For Scholes and Lampard, I can see that Scholes regularly appears in the second season. But Lampard comes up personally around 2014/15.

Some terms if you didn't understand them.

C.A. - This is a players current ability out of 200.

P.A. - This is a players potential ability out of 200. This is never lower than their C.A.

I.T - Intensive training. This is when you set all of the different categorys in training to intensive.

ManUnitedguy's Guide:

I know most people will know what a regen is and most people that don't will ask like Dec or someone but I just fancied trying to make a guide.

What they are:

Regens are players that have retired and then regenerated so that suddenly there aren't any players around  :P.

How to find them:

Sometimes I find regens just randomly looking. When I was doing my Pemier League challenge then I came across quite a few that way. Like if you are quite far into the game like 3-4 seasons then if you just look at the youngest players then you are likely to find regens. Regens generally appear after around 3-4 months but sometimes sooner sometimes later.

But the proper way to find them is by searching for the player that's retired's positions and nationality.

For example, David Beckham normally retires in either the first or second season so he is one of the first regens I get.

What you would search for (for Daid Beckham):

Nation: England
Positions: Midfielder Right/Center
The rest: Blank
Sometimes you can search for attributes but its better not to. And what I do is on PSP sort by age from the youngest to the oldest, and then make it view the sort of technical attributes, and then if you see a player with surprisingly good stats that is an MRC then you have your man!
But beware the exceptions, sometimes the nationality changes or the positions change slightly so it might be a bit more complicated sometimes. And also regens are often cheap unless already bought by another club.

Using them:

Most of the time because of their young age regens don't always have 100% fitness so maybe you will not be able to IT them or play them in every game but putting aside the occasional exception you will be able to play them one match in two or three. Unlike my Ballack regen who I didn't play for a whole season because I played him once and he had 88% the whole season eventually in the second season I had to put everything on none or low or he would never play.

Eventual difficulties:

Sometimes, as stated above, regens are sometimes bought by bigger clubs before you can get your hands on them. This has caused me various problems when I have been a smaller clubs because: 1) Most of the time I couldn't afford it. And 2) Even if I could afford it then he would probably reject. So basically try to get them as soon as possible.

A final tip:

If you're searching for a regen that's maybe from a less poplar nationality unlike England or Italy or Spain, like Nigerian or Swiss or something then you can always look at those clubs because there aren't many of them.

And finally:

I hope that this has been a help to people that didn't properly understand regens and if someone has read it but already understood regens anyway then I hope that you have enjoyed reading this.  :)

The old OP:

Hello and welcome to the regens thread. This is a place where you can either share some of your amazing regens, or if your not sure as who's regen it is then just ask.

If you don't know what a regen is, then just click here.

So how about I get things started:

These are my favourite regens from my rangers career (Currently in the 2016/2017 season)

Kevin Johnson: (Kevin Davies regen)

This guy is a goal machine, he sets up and scores them. Unfortunately he doesn't like IT.

wcknQJw.png

Aaron Hogg: (Kevin Nolan's)

All you have to do is look at his stats. He's my main man in the midfield and creates quite a few goals.

Michael Jones: (No idea who's regen it is)

What can I say. 16 and he's already my first team left back ahead of Lee Wallace. Future England star.

Thanks for reading guys, if you have any questions about regens or you have a player who you don't know their original player just ask. :)

That's what I was thinking but the positions don't exactly match.

Thought retraining would improve his positions not make them worse.

Here's Cole at start on mine

The only thing I can think of is it must be due to fitness. I've noticed on a previous save when Rooney suffered a long term injury his stats deteriorated and then returned to normal when he regained fitness but didn't really notice if his positions changed while injured.

Yea, I thought that was weird..

at the start of the game when he's 27, his heading is 18.

Doesn't really matter. I use him as an AML/R so I don't really need heading.
