(IF/W balanced, mixed, normal)

just starting a new season

Just for fun i had to try it in the Championship

some times when drawing it pays off to go attack-direct-commited.

what is your experience whit the tactic in the Championship ?

I did certainly NOT expect to win the league - but hats of to the tactic. Taff have you used it in lower Leagues :)?

I must admit I've used all three variations of the tactic taking Newport from league 2 to the premiership. But I'm going to update the post with the tactics and instructions so everyone is clear.

Ok here we are guys the definitive guide to how  the Tafftastic tactic now looks in all variations after all the testing and changes.

first the more attacking formation

now you can move the players around but I recommend keeping the BBM behind the P and the AF the same side as the W

now for smaller clubs or when playing bigger teams try changing to the balanced formation (which I know looks like "the very beast tactic") 

This variation seems to help with the smaller clubs.

now as for instructions I always start with the following

but if you need to push for the win (or maybe pull off a draw) change the instructions to this 

i hope that these instructions help and you all enjoy using this tactic

Well we did it Premier League Champions!!!!!!!!!

My 3rd season in the top flight and it went superb (could have been better but still awesome)

Using the two formations (didn't change instructions) had a great season, used attacking formation for all domestic games and the balanced formation for all European games, including any Euro games agaisnt domestic teams and here we go

As you can see we not only won the league but managed to Win the Champions Cup as well 

Loosing in the Semi Finals of the Capital one cup and loosing on Penalties in the FA cup final

So now we have a decent transfer budget lets see if we can improve .

Taff testing for you is just fun! Although i had a rough string of results in november/december im now surely beating relegation as the goal was with the promoted owls

Yeah i always have a dip of form in Nov/Dec but it eventually works out.  Which version of the tactic have you been using?

Well here we have it the (almost) perfect season and a good one to end on i think (time for a new tactic might look at the posts on vibe or try something new.

But my final season with Newport and we won the lot (although the FA cup and Champions Cup finals were a bit tight)

Lost one game all season but won a whole heap of trophies. Had an issue with my strikers suffering bad bouts of form but they still won through

I think in your second season try testing the more attacking formation see how you get on

Great tactic. Won almost everything on my first season with Marseille, with only few new players :

Aaron Leya Iseka (striker) from Anderlecht (4.5 M€), Jean Marie Dongou (striker) on loan from FC Barcelona, Gabriel Boschilia (advanced playmaker) on loan from AS Monaco and Almamy Touré (central defender) on loan from AS Monaco.

Won the League title, the French national cup and the UEFA Cup against Liverpool. I was defeated by St-Étienne on the French League cup final, unfortunately. But still an amazing season.

I am going to lose a lot of loaned players for the second season, however: Cabella, Lucas Silva, Dongou, Boschilia and Touré.

I already signed young wonderkid Odegaard from Real Madrid and other cheap players from South America (Chàvez and Carrizo from Boca Juniors, mainly) to compensate, i will see if my transfer budget allow me to buy one or two top players in prevision of the Champion's League next season.

Second season was less successful, however.

Finished second behind PSG. Was defeated in 1/4 in Champion's League, by Arsenal. Won the two domestic cups, however, which is always nice. So not a terrible season, but not as good as the first one.

Had a poor start in the French League 1, the team was dominant but had some difficulties to score. Lots of new players from different leagues, maybe that was a part of the problem. The team is also quite young. Batshuayi had a poor season due to a management mistake by myself, had to loan him in Scottish premier league for the second part of the season. Chàvez had an amazing season, 39 goals for 52 appearances. Great signing for 3 M€.

Hopefully the team will be better in French League 1 on my third season. Only two new players: Antonio Ramirez, a young and promising central defender from Banfield (4 M€) and Carlos Gruezo, a young beast box-to-box midfielder from Stuttgart (15 M€) who is probably going to replace Diaby in my starting eleven.

EDIT : Batshuayi just get hurt and will miss for the next 11 months!  Planning to get Rossi from Fiorentina in replacement.

This tactic is the reason fm is made and still keeps being fun despite not much changing. My Watford made champions league without any transfers in it first season. Currently still going strong in second season with only Sirigu and Rudiger bought even battering Juventus with 5-0 in the CL group stage. Many thanks to you Taff for a amazing tactic. You made this game fun again!

so ny first bash at football manager 16, using the enhanced match engine.

 

i tried both variations of the tactic posted above that was so successful with newport, and it was a bit of a disaster! Sacked after 10 games and no games won!

anyone have any pointers as to where I could have went wrong?

 

i followed it exactly as the screenshots above suggested.

Use the tactic for a minimum of 20 games before evaluating and use it with Decs training

Hey Taff,after testing and seeing how good your 442 worked for me I decided to use it again with Atletico to dethrone barca and madrid,however I decided to switch for this tactic after going down 1-0 in the middle of a match,how it did?

Awesome of course,it does look similiar to very beast tactic but I like the roles more and they seem to be equally good,hopefully my Atletico catches onto it

Hands down best tactic I've tried this year, even better than your 442 IF formation Taff.

I am using the more defensive version with two WM's and it's served me perfectly. Decided to use Malaga and got through a slightly stick patch at the start of the season and won the league first time of asking. Yes I did have to spend quite a lot with the sugar daddy as the quality in the starting squad consists of Camacho and possibly Amrabat, and that's it. Thing that surprised me the most is I didn't strengthen the 3 CB's at all, played entire season with Filipenko-Welligton-Albentosa and they were rock solid, 3* keeper in Ochoa too. Was nowhere near as leaky as I anticipated. 

I've played quite a few tactics where your CAM never really does anything special and ends up plodding along with 6's and 7's all season, but this tactic is the complete opposite, the CAM is on fire all season no matter who you play there. Chavez was my main man but even my back up youth player got a season overall of 7.52. The TM scores more than the P, at least for me. The BBM is very, very important as they pick up a lot of assists. Meli was superb (as expected). 

Look at some of the results, beat Barcelona 3-1 and 4-0, beat Real Madrid, hammered Atletico 6-0 (their full strength side). Just stunning results from a superb tactic. Out of my starting 11 I'd consider only 4 players to be top quality, the rest all need upgrading but still won the league with games to spare. 

Couldn't be more impressed, hopefully this tactic isn't another one that falls prey to second season syndrome. Well done Taff!

Hehe I'm happy to see you got Guido Carrillo here :-) In my current save I paired him with Barbosa they destroyed Sporting Portugal 7-0 all by themselves !
