Well I've changed the IF to a W made Akpom my primary attacker as said and made my LB a FB instead of a WB the rest remains as it was when I posted it

Amazing numbers, i'm really impressed.

I'm trying a 1k (my retirement didn't last long) and looking at 4-3-2-1 it does seem to be the way to go on EME. That makes it vary hard to have a unique tactic for this challenge - I started with an attacking 4-2-3-1 but my central APM was just getting in the way so i moved him back to CM, my two DMs were going missing so i moved them forward and suddenly it might look like my tactic is a copy.

It's a minefield of plagiarism!

Like you said it's difficult to come up with a different version of the same basic formation, but everyone has their slight tweeks that can make it there own

Season 4

Sorry it's been a while guys been away but I have two full season to catch you up on so here we go

So as season four begins Akpom is doing OK, but we need to get those numbers up

Transfers

So first our transfers and I made some big moves this year mainly getting rid of Sanchez and Iwobi to bring in some proper Wingers 

So I brought in two world class LW in Coman and Brandt and an extra defender in Appiah (as a back-up)

As I said sold Sanchez and Iwobi as well as Coquelin and Paulista both of who weren't happy about their playing time

League

Another straight affair in the league this year winning our fourth consecutive title

Cups

Another steller run in the cups this year

Winning all competitions with a nice double for Akpom in the Champions Cup final 

Season Awards

Another helping of awards this year 

Akpom claiming the player of the year title this year

Chuba Akpom

So here's how the main man did this year

 No real improvement in his stats but finally broke the 60 goal mark and played 6 less games to do it

Broke 200 goals but at this rate I'm going to need him to play for 20 seasons and that's not going to happen, but let's plough on

Season 5

So straight on with my 5th season and after breaking 60 goals can my man Akpom get even better this year, now I changed the tactic slighty this year (going with the midfield trio I mentioned before keeping my CM and BBM but changing the BWM to a DLP and moving them around, but I also switched to the second tactic if I was pushing for a win or trailing hopefully this will help get the goals i need

Transfers

So with my squad at a very good place in terms of depth and ability I didn't really need to bring anyone in, until Cech decided to retire and Eleny wanted out so that left me needing a GK and another CM player, so I went big and brought in Donnarumma (I'm sure he's someones Evogen) as he's done well for me as a backup/future star in my AC Milan save and brought in Dele Alli whom is a good young player (unless you watched the Iceland game the other night)

Going out well my Ibrahimovic Regen was getting tired of not playing and got a good profit from him and as said Eleny also wanted out so "there's the door lad"

League

An absoulte beast of a season in the league this year

Winning the league with 8 games to go and breaking the 100 point mark and a huge 37 point gap on our nearest rivals

Cups

Another good year but suffered a loss in our FA Cup quarter final replay on penalties against Man U but won everything else with one of the worst penalty shootouts in our Community Shield win and Akpom having a blast in our two games in the world club championship

Season Awards

More awards for the team (and me obviously)

Akpom claiming both WPOTY and POTY with Rento Sanches in the runner up spot and Comman plaiming the YPOTY and another MOTY award for moi

Here's how my man got on this year

An improvement in his Strength and more goals but played 7 more games for 4 more goals so not a great improvement, I need him scoring more than 1 a game but next season will be his year the force is strong with this one

I'm keeping my eye on the England job but it hasn't come up in a while and their like 5th in the world rankings so unless they drop suddenly I'll have to make do at Arsenal

Season 6

OK now onto season 6 and truthfully I'm not getting anywhere near where i need to be at this point in the challenge but I'm having fun and am just curious to what numbers I can get out of Akpom before he retires 

Transfers

Started this season with no intention of buying anyone save bringing in an unknown free PRC as a backup (the best laid plans) as come Christmas my two less used CD's are unhappy and for some reason half my team then have a strained relationship with Wallace so the January Transfer window opens and we go to work

As said I brought in Defrel as a backup striker and Arujo was brought in to replace Wallace in defence

  Wallace Campbell Appiah and Buchel all out due to unhappiness or just no room for them 

League

Another great season in the league this year

We won the league with 6 games to go and for a second time broke the 100 point mark, plus only allowed 13 goals all season in the league

Cups

Another clean sweep this year 

Akpom starting the season with a Hat-trick against City

And he claimed the only goal in a tight Champions Cup final against Juventus

Season Awards

Akpom claiming his second WPOTY award and he and Sanches claim another 1st and 2nd in the POTY and I grab yet another MOTY, no luck in the YPOTY but I don't think any of my regular players qualify anymore

This was the year I could feel it could he improve again on last years tally

Yes he could with (what I consider) a steller 74 goals in one season (but still no where near where I should be after 6 whole seasons)

Lets hope he can keep this sort of form up for the next couple of seasons

Season 7

Sorry for the delay (been finishing off a few other challenges)

So after his best season by far last year could Akpom reproduce his good form for another season

Transfers

With the team in a pretty solid position I didn't make many waves in the transfer market with only Chamberlin going out 

League

Another season and another League title

We win the league with 8 games to go, the team was immense this year

Finished undefeated in the league and as you can see broke the 100 point mark yet again and was a solid defensive season with only 12 goals allowed

Cups

Another good haul in the cup competitions this year

Missing out on the FA Cup loosing 1-0 to Chelsea in the final

Season Awards

Akpom claiming another POTY and I grab another MOTY

So how did our main man fair this season

Not as good the previous year with only 62 (still not awful but have only just broken the 400 mark and should be somewhere closer to 650-700 by now)

Only time will tell if we can break anywhere near the elusive 1000 goals

(This has made me want to try the challenge in another league mind so keep your eyes open in case I post another thread)

Season 8

So after a decent season I was hoping to get my Boy back up into the 70's but only time will tell

So firstly onto transfers and only made one at the beginning of the season bringing in a replacement RW for Sisto who refused to sign a new contract so brought in Jose Joaquin Ramirez from Getafe who was a decent back up for Wijnaldm (my Robben Regen) the other two are midfield AP as i have decided to change the tactic slightly and need to players suited for the role and I went big splashing £75M on the pair of them

Going out Wellbeck had had enough of sitting on the bench (plus I had two very good academy grads as backup PCR's so he left and the rest were out of contract (like I said Sisto refused to sign a new one)

League

Another straight forward affair this year

Unbeaten in the league winning all but 4 games and only conceding 13 goals AMAZING!!!

the whole team seemed to click this year and everyone was getting in on the goals and assists 

150 goals across the team and Coman bringing the assists from the LW

Cups

Another great season for silverwear 

Winning everything except the Community Shield which we lost on penalties but Akpom scoring in all the finals the little beast

Fixtures

A great season loosing 1 game drawing 6/7 and winning the rest (beating Crystal Palace and Reading on pens or extra time was annoying but there you have it)

 

No really big wins this year and I struggled to get Akpom scoring more than 1 a game for most of the season

Akpom claiming yet another WPOTY and POTY while I grab MOTY again

So 62 was his tally last year and I wanted him back up in the 70's but did he manage it

Sadly not another 62 goal season and my dreams for the 1000 goals is in tatters but we'll keep going

Simply speechless mate.  Even if you achieve 800 goals with Akpom in the Premiership I still personally consider that a greater achievement than 1000+ with a better player in an easier league!

Hey taff - congrats with the results - can i ask what your main tactic - with instructions have been though the great process :)?

I've been using my 4321 tactic Setting my sole striker as the primary striker

but I'm using it with Norwich and changed one W to an If (keep IF and CM same side) no primary attacker there but can if you want I only use a primary attacker because I want him scoring as much as possible

note with the Arsenal one I'm changing the CM for a AP and in the Norwich save changing the CM to a BWM to see if it makes any difference

Thank you taff  which of the two tactics would you yourself rate highest when NOT thinking about the front mans goal account :)?

Truthfully it does well as it stands with a BBM/DLP/CM combo in the middle and one IF I tried with WB's for a bit but my defence was super leaky but I've also been using a 4411 which seems to hold its own now and again 

I've been starting a few games with my 4411 then if I'm struggling switch to the 4321 at half time (seems to work)
