Career Danovic78's Euro 2016 Squad Challenge

So here my is attempt at the UEFA Euro 2016 Squad Challenge

There isn't many teams with the budget to help fund such a dramatic turnover in the squad and also raising funds by selling the players you don't need so I picked the obvious one really.

Real Madrid Club de Fútbol

The Squad

So 24 players from 24 countries is gonna be a tough ask, crucial to cover the positions needed with so many games but also have the quality needed to lift some trophies. The big plus of being Real is having Bale already at the club. Sadly my knowledge of Hungarian and Albanian players was lacking so I need to learn fast.

Transfers In

So just the £127m spent to revamp the squad. I managed to retain 7 of the original squad with the big hitters Bale, Ronaldo, Kroos, Ramos, Varane, Kovacic and Cheryshev to cover the Russian player. Alli was the biggest deal, his youth and development was the big draw. The rest were recruited quite cheaply really. Some reliable heads in here with Jonny Evans, IIsanker and Rakitskyi steady players.

Transfers Out

So we got some big money from Benzema and Modric going use James Rodriguez to bring in Hamsik. A decent return helped me make nearly £50m profit back in sales!

Looks good mate can't wait for another great career. Hopefully your formation works (maybe a bit too defensive for a team liked Real Madrid) and I can't wait till the next update

Thanks. I have changed tactic a few times as I am a few years ahead. Just wanted to get the most out of the wing backs as they always seem to perform badly in a flat back 4. With Kroos, Kovacic and Hamsik as AP we do have an attacking threat plus Bale to come in.

Thanks, it does take a few hours to get the transfers sorted out in time for the season start. He is a good solid defender but not quite a starter. Unfortunately with the leagues I loaded Will Grigg wasn't there!

Season One -  Real Madrid Club de Fútbol

Spanish Super Cup

So three goals from Ronaldo over the two legs ensure we lift our first trophy.

Spanish Cup

Atletico's Vietto stuns us in the second leg of the semi final

Champions League

A last minute Mata goal send us out to Man Utd in the Quarter Final.

Liga BBVA

Too many draws cost us in the end as Barca are too hot in the title run in.

Season Awards

Ronaldo picks up another Ballon D'Or award.

Ronaldo makes is a double by winning the Spanish Player of the Year Award with Bale second.

Embolo was runner up in the Spanish Young Player of the Year Award.

Squad Stats

Ronaldo and Bale led the line well. Kroos was the creative force in midfield but my keeper was a disaster really. I will be looking to change him for the next season as I think that  Dragowski is just too young yet to be a starter.

Yeah, could have been better. A bit of luck in the cups and turn a couple of draws into wins in the league and its a great season.

Yeah, the squad is ok but some areas the depth of quality is not as good as I normally would like but that's the challenge!

Season Two -  Real Madrid Club de Fútbol

Transfers In

So I needed to replace my keeper so we had a little move about with my new Albanian keeper Berisha and Swedish left back Augustinsson plus a new Czech right back Kaderabek. Signed Sanches, Ashley Cole and Zhrikov regens for the future, they will go out on loan.

Transfers Out

Managed to ship Isco out plus a clear out of the reserve team too.

Spanish Cup

We dominate Tenerife in a final and a brace from Bale helps seal and easy win.

Champions League

A keeper meltdown in the semi final second leg as Bayern blow us away.

Liga BBVA

Again too many draws cost us plus a lack of goals as we finished 30 goals behind Barca in second again.

Season Awards

Embolo is runner up to Messi in the Spanish Player of the Year Award.

I was runner up to Luis Enrique in the Liga BBVA Manager of the Year Award.

Squad Stats

Embolo impressed this season with Ronaldo up front but couldn't get much from Alli, who has been a disappointing signing so far.

Season Three - Real Madrid Club de Fútbol

Transfers In

So we stocked up big time on regens bringing in Gerrard, Gudjohnnson, Ibrahimovic and Robbie Keane for the future.

Transfers Out

With Cheryshev sold we could bring in Andreev from the B side. Sanches and my Cole regen went out on loan.

Despite dominating both legs we lose out to Chelsea in the First Round.

Forgot to screenshot but another frustrating league campaign as we trail in second behind Barca again!

Season Awards

Andone is runner up to Messi in the Spanish Player of the Year Award.

Embolo is crowned Spanish Young Player of the Year.

I was runner up to Pep in the Liga BBVA Manager of the Year Award.

Squad Stats

You can see the issue here a complete lack of goals. My big stars failed to deliver at all, not helped with Bale being injured for most of the season.

It was dreadful. The challenge has nearly made me want to give up playing. The latest update has drained almost all my enjoyment from the game on the OME. Its dreadful.

A very frustrating time reading this never mind playing it lol. Keep the faith mate, it will just make meeting your goals all the more rewarding! In my current save I had a frustrating period but once I achieved what I wanted it felt brilliant haha. However I've not updated my FMM since before the Brazil update so I can't say if the game has got even worse :/.

It's been a nightmare really since the update I believe, I have started half a dozen careers but the usual issues just keep making me stop playing. The main issue I have found is the opposition scoring with their first shot, I counted 21 times in one season they scored with their very first shot? Ridiculous really.

Am really struggling at present to find a save that I am enjoying.

Maybe you should switch engine to EME. I have found it easier when it comes to designing tactics

Season Four - Real Madrid Club de Fútbol

Transfers In

We splashed big money to bring in Pogba and Jedvaj plus a Romanian prospect.

Transfers Out

A big change was needed and we shipped out some big stars, with Pogba coming in we sent Varane to Juve. Ronaldo was 33 now so went to Juve too with Sanches promoted. Alli was very disapointing too so we promoted my Ashely Cole regen plus Eriksson was promoted too after a great season on loan. Kovacic went too as we bought in Jedvaj.

A high scoring draw in the home legs costs me in the Quarter Final against Bayern.

Finally things have clicked, we dominate the league with just two defeats.

Season Awards

Eriksson takes the Spanish Player of the Year Award in his first season with Embolo second.

I manager to beat Pep to win the Liga BBVA Manager of the Year Award.

Squad Stats

With a switch to a 4-3-3 with click well, Eriksson top scored in his debut season, Kroos again providing from midfield.

Yeah, the switch back to 4-3-3 seemed to do the trick plus also bringing some big players too.

Although sadly I have only a few more seasons on this one as I accidentally saved over this challenge, Whoops!

Unlucky mate. I have been there. I'm always accidentally saving over my best careers and then I angrily delete the game thus losing the rest of my saves. Hopefully the next few seasons this challenge can come good

Sergio Ramos was sold as he was 34 now with Inigo Martinez coming to replace him, Davide Zappacosta was refusing to sign a new deal so we bought in Mattia De Sciglio.

The front three nearly ended on all the same goals! Kroos and Pogba dominating from midfield.
