Brexit: A Footballing Viewpoint

As you know, or should know, [Great] Britain has left the EU. Now this will affect us in every aspect of our life but will also affect football, or soccer, and so will affect the FM franchise. Due to this it will mean European players will be treated like African and [South] American players and will require work permits. This will make it increasingly difficult to buy players if you're managing an English, Northern Irish, Welsh or Scottish side. 
Right now these are the requirements for a work permit:

1. Any player who does not hold an EU passport will require a work permit to play in the UK, this can mean having an EU nation as their second nationality.
2. Players applying for a work permit must have featured in 75% of their countries matches in the two years before applying for a work permit, and the players country must be ranked 70th or higher in the FIFA rankings, if these two conditions are met, the player will receive a work permit.
3. Things like injuries are taken into consideration, and if the player is young and shows a lot of potential, it is likely they will receive a work permit as well.

So, if a player, aged at least 23, has not played 75% of the matches his nation have played and/or his nation is ranked below 70th, then it is unlikely he will get a work permit.Now that the UK is no long part of the EU even EU players will require a work permit. Some example of players that play in the UK that wouldn’t have been able to get a work permit include [Dimitri] Payet and [N’Golo] Kante.

A honest question, EnglisI teams in the UCL? No more.or.are.they still in it?

English teams will still be in UCL as that governed by UEFA and has nothing to do with EU.

One thing I'm scared of is the fact German players can't get international caps in the game so what will happen with them and work permits.

This is gonna be interesting. I hope SI will put all the changes also in FMM. Finally English players are going to have more chance to get to the first team. And also there's another change. English teams can't now buy players younger than 18 years old out the UK. So here in Holland we are happy. Talents like Fosu-Mensah can't go now on a young age to an English club. There are different Dutch  young players who moved to the UK the likes: Bruma, Ake, Fosu-Mensah, Pereiro and Delirosun.

Shouldnt affect the game until 2018 though. So things are fine for now... thankfully. And theres always the foreign policy unlockable as an option to the player

Its not quite that clear cut anyway.  The requirements listed above were the standard that all transfers were supposed to be judged by. But for example Willian hadn't met that criteria and was granted a permit on the basis that he would've qualified if he played for any country but Brazil. Appeals board now takes into account such things as the size of the transfer fee, wages etc to determine if a player is considered of high quality. I suspect that the richer clubs being able to afford better lawyers will still find a way to get the players they want - just will take a but more effort. If anything it will mean the unlockable will be even easier to achieve in game.

This could really change up the way FMM is played, it's certainly going to be interesting. I assume it would be implemented when the time is right but it will easily be able to be avoid via the work permit unlockable. 

The German players not playing ITN matches is a very good point from outside the box, fair play! I wonder what happens here?

Least it will make broken regens a lot harder to get a hold of early on/cheap.

Most of the clubs will have feeder clubs to send the players too on loan until they fix the issue by reapplying or such.
