This is in the bags! Even with those pesky injuries your are really performing m8! How's the French job? I'm not closer to getting it even though the perform horrible in europe haha. Anyways KIU!!!

The French job just never seems to come up, I guarantee that when I'm 10 goals away from finishing the challenge Dechaumps will retire and then I'll get the job

Season 9

And we are back with our best season yet the boys have been on fire this year and got my hopes back up that we can complete the challenge 

Transfers

First onto the transfer market

We brought in some good players this year, my main GK De Gea wouldn't sign a new contract and Horn was next to useless so I bought in three new GK's with Fruchtl being the big buy at £40M from Bayern but he was a solid addition to the team, along with Belotti and Antonio both on free transfers, then Remi Leroy came to us as possible replacement for Pogba and Eriksen and after seeing him on a list here recently I grabbed Santi Mina as he's a solid option along the whole top end of the pitch

Rashford was the big sale after many seasons of wasting away on the bench I decided to cash in (although he is a great player who I might try a 1K with in the future), then Horn went out and the rest were unwanted or players who didn't want a new contract 

League

Smashed the league again this year

we did loose 1 game to arch rivals Chelsea but with over 100 points and goals and another great season for the GK/DEF only conceding 14 in the league we run home to our ninth consecutive league title

Cups

A Good (not perfect) year in the cups

We start by narrowly beating Chelsea to retain the Community Shield, thanks to a brace from Niang

We fail to retain the Euro Supercup after Arsenal saw us off (scoring 2/3 shots on target while we missed all 4)

Another brace from Niang help us claim the Club World Championship after a dominating display over Corinthians where we should have had a much more convincing score line

We beat Chelsea once again in a cup final to claim the EFL Cup (I might look back but thats got to be like 8/9 cup finals they've lost to us now over the course of the challenge)

We see off Everton in the FA Cup final which they had better stats but it's the goals that count

And finally the team pulls off a good win over FCP to claim the European Champions Cup

Fixtures

Some solid results here with lots of 5-1/4-1 wins but 8-0 vs Hull and 7-0 vs Leicester being the highlights of the season

Pulling back from 2-0 down to pull level in the 90th minute to then go on and score 4 in extra time was awsome (especially against those dirty scousers  sorry @Ashez)

Still no MOTY award for me (all the things I've achieved and I think I've one 1 award)

Here's how the boys did this year and thankfully no major injuries to report, a few weeks here and there and a few games missed due to fatigue but a good year

So the boys have got my faith back, but with Niang now 30 and Martial 29 time could be a major factor, but if I can keep them healthy then I'm sure this will be over in 3/4 seasons

Both players only managed 1 new minute each this season but that's good only leave 1 minute each and I'm very please at how fast Niang has caught up after a slower start (fun fact both new minutes came in cup finals against Chelsea)

Season 10

Now onto our tenth season and I'm hoping even though the boys are both now in their 30's they can still push for that glorious 1200 total

Transfers

Now this season I didn't plan on much maybe just a couple of fresh faces, however it didn't quite go to plan

I started the season bringing in Passalack on a free transfer to replace my aging RB Valera, then promoted Burns as a future prospect, and the buy of the season was Civelli (Messi's regen), however come the January window both Pogba and Fabinho refused to sign new contracts so I went big splashing £105M on Montolivo and Locatelli, two Italian midfielders who would now be my starting midfield pair

Leroy wasn't performing to the standards I expected so when the offer came in I bit their hand off, Fabinho was out before he left for nothing, unfortunately Pogba signed with Roma on a free and I couldn't get any money for him, and Malcom who is a good player but just wasn't getting any game time so I sold him the rest were unwanted graduates and after a great few seasons Eriksen left at the ripe old age of 33 (which is sad that thats how old I am yet footballers are retiring)

League

Looking to secure our 10 consecutive league title and we did it in style

Another undefeated season and look at that goal difference, what a season for the whole team finishing 33 points clear or Chelsea

Cups

Another year and more silverwear to win

Civelli starts his Man U career off with a bang scoring two in his first competitive match along with a brace from Niang helps us seal an easy victory over Chelsea once again claiming the Community Shield

Martial scores the only goal in what should have been a much bigger victory to re-claim the Euro Supercup (note the time of his goal and I'll explain later why it's so annoying)

Both strikers and the ever impressive Laporte all scoring to secure us yet another World Club championship

We score a huge win over Arsenal to claim the EFL cup (and get a little revenge for last seasons Euro Supercup)

Chelsea once again fall under the Might of the red devils thanks to a Martial brace

A Cracking game here sees us run out 5-3 winners over Man City in the European Champions cup with a brace from both Niang and Martial

A solid season winning all but 5 games (all of which were draws) two games back to back saw us beat Charlton 7-0 then beat Arsenal 7-2 thanks to my attacking 442 formation the goals started flying in

And I am chuffed to win the MOTY award (for only the second time) but I'm very happy to win

Well after their previous two seasons I was hoping to keep it going with another 100+ season 

again another season with no major injury worries which has helped the last three years

So another 100+ season and we're very close to breaking the 1000 mark just three more good seasons should see us through but time is now a major factor but I'm still confident (not 100% but maybe 87.5%)

So Niang comes from behind to nip in and be the first to score all 90 minutes

Remember the Euro Supercup game now you see why it was annoying, plus the fact he hit on the 64th minute two other times through the season but I will get him there

Well onto our next season and hopefully a good tally once again

Awesome season mate. I also had trouble hitting the 60 - 70 min, my final min was 69th. You'll get it next season.

As for the DT, their age is catching up and still 200+ remaining between the both. A couple minor upgrades to an already great formation/tactics and you're close to completion. Definitely doable! KIU!

Cheers dude, i must admit their age is becoming a factor as i notice they take a while to recover after a spell of games but I still think it's achievable

If anyone read what was here before about INT goals ignore it

There seems to be some confusion around the subject of INT goals counting whether your the National manager or not

So in the interest of fairness I will not count INT goals unless I get the French managers job (which I doubt as it never comes up)

Season 11

So after all the confusion surrounding the INT goals lets crack straight on with season 11

Transfers

Plenty of ins and outs this year to boost the squad and get rid of some deadwood (one forced sale)

Coming in were Flood (someones regen) a great English CD, Lopez was brought in as a good CM/ACM option, Kevin Hall (another good English CD) was brought in to help out my thinning defence, Cairney also a Defensive player I picked up as a good RB/LB option and finally Abdelmalek I had to grab on a free transfer due to Injuries in the GK position

Laporte was the forced sale mentioned earlier, due to not wanting to sign a new contract at the beginning of the year so I decided to cash in and grabbed a cool £21M, Mina and Dendoncker wanted play time but neither really fit the bill anymore so out they went and as stated in the last update Pogba left to Roma on a Bos transfer

League

Another season and......

Another League title to add to the collection, not quite as solid at the back this year but knocking plenty in at the other end clearing 100 goals again for the season

Not as succesful as I would have liked in the cups

So how did the boys get on this year, well they both had spells of brilliance but both also suffered bouts of fatigue and injury

But the difference was how they came back and while Niang struggled for the most part Martial was immense this year even after his injury

His stats started to suffer owing to age and having to keep going on fitness training

So a great season for Martial, not so much for Niang but only 137 left I really think this challenge is achievable if I can keep them both fit for two more seasons

Season 12

OK so straight into season 12 (sorry there was a delay the site kept crashing on me hence the double season load)

So were hoping to make a good dent in the remaining 137 goals, but can the boys stay on track and stay healthy 

Transfers

Onto the transfer market IMG_9630.PNG

Just the three (two really) signings this year Choplin was brought in to help out at the CD position after deciding to go with a three at the back system this year, Cuesta was a backup PCR and Advocaat was a lonee PCR who lasted two minutes before going out for 4 months so I ended his loan and bought Cuesta

Silva the only sale as he had no place in my new setup (Passalack and Guilbert both can play the W position in Midfield so they stayed) the rest were youth players who didn't make the cut

League

Looking for our 12th consecutive EPL Title

And we smashed it, undefeated 100+ points and goals and only conceding 14 once again leaving our rivals in the dust

Cups

With no Euro Supercup or Club World Championship this season we cracked on looking to claim as much as possible

We start the season off with a lucky win on Penalties gaining some measure of revenge against Man City for last seasons FA Cup exit

Any idea as to why Niang isn't as prolific as Martial? Other than that KIU!

Not sure he's suffered longer bouts of injury, but he does have bouts of brilliance (as you'll see in the next update) 

Apart from that I think Martial is just the better striker

Season 13

Early Warning this is a very long post

Here we are once again, and we only require 48 goals to see the Challenge through but will age and fitness play a factor this year, lets crack on and find out (I'm going to lay this out a little different and run through the season as it happens)

We start the season very optimistic only requiring 48 goals, although there's a nagging voice in my head saying the boys are both now well into their 30's and fitness could play a vital role, and then my assistant manager sends me a message

Martial already out for two months and no offence to Niang but I was relying on Martial to hit most of the required goals

So we play few friendlies to warm up bringing on some of our new signings to get some game time and get accustomed to our style of play

Deciding to graduate a few youth players along with some replacements for departing players with Arthur in to replace Guedes and Chaney in to replace Sule, then Wagner was brought in as a backup AM

Guedes and Sule left after too much time on the bench the rest were the unwanted graduates

So the friendlies were over with a win over Man City and a loss to Athletico Madrid, so the team were in a mixed place whle getting ready for our first game of the season which was fast approaching, we would be facing Man City in the Community Shield, and without Martial I was hoping Niang could step up to net 1 or 2 to get the season off to a good start, and he didn't disappoint....

Niang nets 4 goals in the season opener to give myself (and more importantly himself a great confidence boost)

So with the Community Shield safely tucked away in the trophy case for another season we go back to training for our next game which would be against Lazio in the Euro Supercup

Civelli and Dembele both strike in the second half to grant us a tight 2-1 victory over Lazio to reclaim the Euro Supercup

So onto the league and cups and the boys go in strong starting the season off very well

They go on to win their four opening games in the league and their opening Champions cup game against AS Monaco, then face Chelsea twice drawing in the league but dissmatling them 4-0 in the EFL Cup third round and then beat Middlesbrough to get the league campaign back on track.

During this period without Martial Niang would go on to net 6 more goals to keep the 1200 goal target well in reach

Martial came back to us for our next game in the Champions cup and imminently made an impact

Netting twice to take their season tally to 12 leaving us 36 to get, and with both boys back and firing we went into our next game against West Ham in the league looking to get the boys firing together

Which they did, scoring three goals between them, but then disaster as Niang is stretchered off in the 92 minute

Niang is now out for a month, leaving Martial to keep the challenge alive

he goes into our run of games looking to net a few more to get us even closer to the target and he doesn't disappoint

scoring 9 goals in 7 games, then Niang returns in the league game against Spurs and Champions Cup game against AS Monaco

...and the boys are now closer than ever already having scored 29 goals leaving 19 to get

The next few fixtures sees the boys looking to net the remaining 19 goals

They score another 6 goals between them leaving 13 goals going into the Club World Championship finals, feeling confident the boys can use these two (I know it's a bit cocky assuming we'll get both games but come on) games to get us ever closer.

We face off against America (MEX) in the semi final

Where the boys combine for 3 goals (10 to go)

Then in the final we face Osaka AC.....

Were the team claim the World Club Championship crown and net another crucial 2 goals

So with only 8 goals remaining and a whole half a season left to get them were on cloud 9 at the moment, I take the boys aside and tell them how immense they have both been this season and offer to give them both a rest, but they point blank refuse and tell me "We're so close we can taste it, don't rest us boss let us go out there and get those 8 goals for you)

So I keep them playing and we go in search of those elusive 8 goals, next up three league games against Leeds, QPR and Arsenal, just need some good performances form the boys and this is ours for the taking

They go into the game vs Leeds hungrier than I've seen them in a while and boy do they deliver

Martial scores a hat-trick and Niang nets to to give us 4 goals left, next up QPR

The game goes better than excpected and the team are 4-1 up by half time thanks to another Martial Hat-trick and a goal from our new LW Arthur

So second half could either of my French Masters net that 1 goal that would take them to the magic 1200, we play hard, QPR pull another back thanks to a 49th minute penelty then in the 58th minute we're on the attack the ball gets played into Martial who's pulled down, the ref blows his whistle and points to the spot, up steps Niang...

Bottom left corner and M'bey Niang shows his class as 34 years old and nets the magic 1200 goal of the Double Trouble Challenge 

We go on to finish this game in some style

Niang scoring for a second time from the spot and Choplin netting in injury time to seal a fantastic victory and once again QPR are the team that helps us achieve victory in our challenge (remember Martial completed the GaM challenge against them two seasons ago)

So the boys have done it 1201 goals in 12 and a 1/2 seasons and I couldn't be any more proud than I am after this game, the boys both get a 5 star dinner on me and the team is sent to celebrate late into the night

The remainder of the season we continue to play our hearts out

We go onto to list the EFL Cup

We smash the league once again claiming our 13th consecutive league title and another season with over 100 points and goals (gutted that we were not undefeated in the league, losing to Everton in the Final game of the season)

Man City once again knock us out of the FA Cup in the Semi Finals

But we get our revenge beating them 3-0 thanks to a brace from Niang to become Champions of Europe for the 11 time in 13 seasons

a few losses towards the end of the year but soming back from 0-2 down against Liverpool in the Champions cup semi final to win the tie 4-2 on agg was a highlight

After many years of strong displays from my defence and goal keepers it's nice to see them recognised as Fruchtl claims the WPOTY and Passalack (who is now a serious must have player) coming in 2nd

Martial and Niang are recognised for their sheer excellence and come 1st and 2nd in the EPL POTY

But once again I am dissed in the MOTY awards

Niang and Martial

So we know the boys have done it and I can't say how impressed I am with them both, Martial has been a consistent asset, but Niang this season has shown your never too old to kick butt

Niang finishes the challenge at the ripe old age of 34 (bear in mind I'm 33 myself) and on a great 37 goals for the season

Martial finishes with a very impressive 45 goals in 47 games to round out one hell of a career under my management

So there you have it the boys have completed the Double Trouble challenge scoring an impressive 1234 goals in 13 seasons

I finish pretty happy (OK my domestic player bias is woeful) but finishing as the #1 ranked manager in the world feels pretty good, although looking at this i think I know why the French Job never came up

So there we have it both challenges now complete and I can move on to try something new

This is great.  But your initial post mentions the goal of 1,500 goals between the pair.  Did that change at some point and I missed it?

It was a mistake on my part I thought the aim was 1500 but I was then Informed somewhere along the way that its 1200 for a DT

I think 1500 is a TT goal target

Awesome feat @Taff feels great to complete a top challenge and move on to the next. Very sweet winning % as a manager as well. I managed about 80% in mine.

Congratulations @Taff on another fantastic career. This career was great to follow and Niang's struggles made this career even more exciting due to extending the time needed to finish. KIU and I can't wait for your next career,
