Career AC Milan Dutch Challenge Attempt/World Domination

I've decided to take on the AC Milan challenge that involves emulating the success of the 1980's which involved Milan having 3 talented Dutchmen in their squad.

With no further to do, lets look at the transfers I made.

Transfers

As you can see, the 3 Dutch players I've decided to sign are the 3 at the top. Van Ginkel is a centre/attacking midfield, Riedewald is a centre/defensive midfield or a centra back (Which is what I'm currently playing him as) and El Ghazi is a striker, so I've managed to get one for each position.

I also signed some defenders as we were a bit thin in that department, and a few of the current defenders suffered injuries.

For those curious, here are my outs :

League Table

I'm currently 17 games into the season. Here's how the table looks :

So, not too bad. Hot on the heels of Juventus, but 1 slip up could see us fall down to 4th.

Can we go unbeaten all season? I'm not really thinking of that at the minute. I'm kind of annoyed at the amount of drawn games. Especially because most of those drawn games, we should have won (2 of them had disallowed goals, and another 2 had missed penalties, as shown below)

Had those penalties been scored, we'd be 4 points clear at the top. Grr.

Italian Super Cup

Very happy with that victory. Not only because it was against Juventus, but because it's my first trophy. Found it a bit weird, however, at the fact the Super Cup was in the middle of the season.

More updates will be posted within the coming days.

2016/2017

Had an absolute nightmare of a 2nd half of the season. Inconsistency led to us finishing 3rd.

I suppose a positive is that we qualified for the Champions League.

My Dutch striker El Ghazi scored 17 goals in all competitions, which I am very happy about.

Here's the top scorers from Serie A last season :

Lastly, here are my other 2 Dutch players that make up the challenge :

2017/2018 - Transfers

I was very busy in the transfer market, as defensive and attacking recruitments were desperately needed.

Very happy with Balotelli. His stats are great, and hopefully he can bring goals to the team, as that's what I was lacking a little last season.

Here's Mario Balotelli :

And for those interested, here are my outs :

So, plenty of ins and outs. Lets hope we can win the Serie A and have a go at the Champions League this season.

Updates to come soon!

I have officially failed this challenge

The poor form of the back end of the 16/17 season followed us into the new season, and it just didn't feel like the same team anymore.

A sad sad ending to what looked to be a succesful challenge.

All isn't bad though, as I've decided to continue with my career, and ended up become the Nigeria national team manager.

Winning the African Cup of Nations 2019 in style. Considering we lost 1-0 to Egypt in the first group match, I'd say it was pretty impressive.

We even managed to break into the top 10 of the world rankings :Screenshot_20161127-034248.png

Every cloud has a silver lining.

Let's see if we can defend our AFCON crown in 2021, and qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

Forza Nigeria!

Yes you read that right. We won the 2021 Confederations Cup, beating Germany, Argentina and Spain along the way.Screenshot_20161127-192059.png

By 'beating' Germany, I meant hammering them.

We also managed to reclaim the 2021 AFCON, beating Ghana in a repeat of the 2019 final.

Here's the world rankings as of July 2021 :

After the win, we have moved up to a record 3rd place in the world rankings. unbelievable.

Our group consisted of Iran, Portugal and Ecuador, and finished 2nd.

In the last 16, we beat South Africa 5-0, which led to us playing Holland in the quarter-finals, winning 2-1.

In the semi's, it was a tough game against Brazil, but 2-1 was enough to send us through to the final, where we comfortably beat Germany 3-0. Happy days.

Germany have been far too easy to beat on the game for years. I know they have fake players but surely they need to be as good as in real life. I beat them 9-0 with England once.
