Tactics [OME] 3-2-2-3 Solid defence, Goals for fun

Evening all,

 

I'd like to introduce my tactic* (I shouldn't take all the credit as it's a combination of two that others submitted). It's worked wonders for me over the past couple of seasons on my United save - and so far it's all I've tested with, so please feel free to try it out yourself.

 

See the screenshots below to see how effective it has been for me. Please note that I have only used this tactic for the latest two seasons and before that it was trial and error with a few tactics.

Have you tired this with a smaller team by any chance?

This seems counter-intuitive.  Your entire midfield is instructed to sit deep (and on top of your BPD) and yet the attacking mentality makes them push up to link up with the forwards?...  Is this a case of superstar players where instructions are irrelevant?  What are your possession numbers?
