I brought Eduardo Simeone whilst at Fulham for a small price of £3 million quid. After getting the Newcastle job I wanted to take my star player with me, shelling out £15 million quid.

As a promising young playmaker, he gained a lot of attention from Man United, Man City and Liverpool. However I was reluctant to keep him one more season.

I then changed the way I play and brought in some quality young English players. I felt this was the point to offload Eduardo. 

Worth £17 million, I was looking to accept nothing under £30 million. A bidding war erupted and Man City eventually won him for £51 million quid, I was delighted.

Curious as to how Eduardo was getting on I checked his profile. After 7 games, the 23 year old Argentinian playmaker is now out for 8 months with a slipped disc. Did I sell him at the perfect time? Result.

I'm actually sad when my ex-players go on to flop or injure themselves.

I would be sad but he became a nuisance and was absent/distributive in training, I was glad to get rid of him.
