Back in the big time.

We qualified for the Champions League after battling our way through 6 matches, 3 seperate qualifying rounds.

AC Milan, Dortmund and Porto - not exactly the easiest of groups. I'm excited to test my squad at the highest level and will use this as a learning curve for future seasons.

Anything you'd like to see me include in this save? For example, show you my current squad, an indepth discussion about my tactics etc.

I agree he's a great wingback. In this save money is tight and I need to spend wisely but no regrets about spending the bulk of my budget on him.

I play him as a traditional winger and he is bossing the Serie A. :)

By the way, tremendous European campaign.

Barrie McKay is actually my top scorer this season playing as an inside forward on the right. One of the players really benefitting from my formation change!

Liam Burt is only just being given a chance in my third season. He has some potential and could develop into a good squad player. I'm now using an AMC which he is, only reason he never got a look in before.

Cheers mate. Mckays stats are looking good this season would have hoped his attributes were a bit better still a few in the brown but cant argue with his form and burt looks as if he could mature into a decent enough player with a good amount of game time. Are you using any intensive training or just the basic?

Just the basics mate. I don't touch the training side of things even though I know I probably should.

January Transfer Window.

You'd think with a champions league last 16 tie to play that I'd be heavily strengthening my squad right? Think again.

We bring one player in - Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth who is classed as a winger in the game. Was worth 2.5 million but snatched him up for 300,000. I'm going to convert him into a wingback. This is a little experiment of mine as his defensive stats are pretty poor but I'm going to see if I can make a player out of him. The theory is if I put him on defensive training he'll be excellent going forward as hes naturally a winger but also able to defend well too.

Yaya Sanogo has been sold after a season and a half at the club. He struggled for first team football and seemed to think he was the next Thierry Henry and was demanding a place in the first team. I showed him who was in charge by selling him on to Tours FC. Made a 925,000 profit on him too.

Matt Crooks also left for 850,000. He was a bang average central midfield player always being rated a 7 but never actually doing anything meaningful.

Tempted to add a rule for myself on this save in line with Brexit from the summer transfer window forward. Only signing British players? How do you all feel about that? It may dent by chances of winning the champions league at some stage in the save but at the same time add an extra challenge domestically.

Season Review February.

We are in February with 14 games in the league remaining and still in with a chance of winning every competition we entered.

We are four points clear at the top of the league. A comfortable gap but one which could easily be lost. Celtic can focus purely on the league whilst we have Europe to think about.

We were drawn against Sporting CP in the last 16. A tie I feel we are more than capable of winning. We start away from home which is always a bonus.

We also face a 4th round replay against Celtic in the Scottish Cup to keep the dream alive.

END OF THIRD SEASON.

Early exit from champions league

We done an excellent job in topping our champions league group only to be knocked out in the last 16 by Sporting CP.

They were probably the worst opposition I faced in the competition but we could only draw 2-2 at home after going down 1-0 in the first leg.

We win the treble

We go one step further from last year and add the Scottish Cup to our trophy cabinet. A domestic treble was our objective this season and the players have delivered.

We ended up winning the league pretty comfortably by 12 points - the Scottish cup win wasn't so straight forward as we required penalties to see off an average hibs side.

Another season gone - Next season I plan on strengthening the squad in key areas to make that extra push and try and get further in Europe, as well as keeping us on course to win 10 league titles in a row - we are currently on 2 so a long way to go on our journey.

Ryan Hardie won the Player of the year award and finished as our top goalscorer and his stats have improved so much over the course of the season. He's displaced Joe Garner as our main goal getter as well as keeping out young Matthew Knox, a first season signing who is also constantly improving.

IM BACK IN BUSINESS.

6 days have gone without a post. I've been chopping and changing my team, playing about with tactics, trying to get my team to the next level.

Summer Transfer Window.

We bring in 4 excellent players. Spending 8.4 million pounds as the Champions League money starts to be pumped into the club.

Four first team players are sold to make way as we keep the balance right. We make a profit on every player we let go : notice I've sold Ryan Fraser and Jack Paterson who I signed for the club but neither performed to my expected standard. Ryan was a bit of a gamble signed for 300,000 in January and is sold on for 2 million 6 months later with barely a sniff of football for us.

A NEW RANGERS.

I decide to change my tactic and this was my main reason for signing two advanced playmaker style central midfield players.

I love the idea of my ball winning midfielder holding the for whilst the attacking midfielder either side joins the attack providing assists and goals for the team. This should also bring out the best in my poacher.

I want us to be playing as a team making a variety of passes and for everyone to get involved. I have 1q quality players on the park not just one or two stars so this is the best way to play. We will press high up the park forcing the opposition into making mistakes.

The defence is kept simple to compensate for the attacking look to my side - the aim is to score more goals than my opponent and I'll be happier with a 4-3 victory than a 1-0 win.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

We qualify for the group stages once again but so far it's not going to plan - we are performing as you'd expect from a Rangers side but in the name of the save I expect better, I need season on season progression.

Ok so we are placed in a group against Chelsea and Bayern who I was delighted to get draws against showing I can compete at the top level. We were actually 2-0 against Bayern before they got back into it and I was kicking myself for not playing more defensively and grinding out a win.

My greavances lie with our peformances against FC Steaua as we lose and draw against them, the team we'd be expecting to finish below us. We risk going out of European football altogether and I've two games to save us albeit against Chelsea and Bayern. I aim to salvage Europa League football and really push on to try win this tournament but my chances of even qualifying are minimal.

Hi's and Low's.

I've already touched on my new formation and at times we play exactly how I envisaged the tactic others I'm pulling my hair out.

The 7-1 victory over Hamilton was my biggest victory as manager of rangers and made me think I was invincible ans going to dominate football forever... but our form just never stayed consistent.

14 games of the league season played and we are level on points with Celtic but they have a game in hand to go above us.
