Introduction

Hi guys. Been away for a while, had some problems but 2 months and 1 new phone later I have returned. I am aiming to get a 1kc+ done again this year so have been looking at tactics for a main striker. Though, witgout the brazilian league, I'll likely never match the 2kc I did last year.

My first action will be to post my first tactic thread in a while, so here it goes.

I decided to ease my way back into the game with a nice easy celtic career. I love playing as celtic.

Formation and Roles

I wanted to create a new tactic totally from scratch so I tinkered around a bit and came up with this.

Now this does seem risky with only 1 center half and wing backs but there is backup from the BWM. The DLP also sits back and provides some defensive duties as well as the BBM racing back and forwards also doing some tackling.

After some trial and error early in season 1 I realized that CF works best up front as he scores as well as providing for the IFs who are cutting infield.

Instructions

I used the following instructions pretty much from day 1 and added the primary outlet/attacker roles mid way through season 1.

The central play seems obvious with the only width coming from the wing backs and with both the creative and attacking players playing centralised roles or cutting inside to the centre. I always set the DPM as primary outlet and CF as primary attacker.

Results

Now I will say that results aren't necessarily stellar for this team and league but they are solid in all competitions and against all opposition. These results are across 2.5 seasons so far.

So we're looking at over 2 goals per game scored and under 1 conceded on average. Also very few losses as is expected with celtic.

As expected all domestic titles were won however season 2 brought a champions league title with the formation holding up well against stronger teams like Milan, Schalke, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The striker also does pretty well

Dembele played as top man for season 1 and 2 but was out 4 months in season 2 averaging almost a goal a game whilst often displaying the "slightly tired" remark.

Third season began well so far with Zack Clough replacing Dembele

On top of that my backup striker Leighton Griffiths is doing well too.

Son what do you guys think? Anything else you'd like to see? Also any testers?

Glad to have you back mate! It looks like a good tactic, in the middle of tibkering around with my own so I can't test it out.

I'm testing it with stoke at the moment with no transfers. Shaquiri has taken to it well.

So I played a season with stoke. No tactical changes, no transfers, just played the players in the positions I felt were right.

So it's clearly no super tactic. Diouf did do well when he wasn't injured though and Shaqiri and bojan also took well to the tactic.

Plus, anything that does this to Man City has to be worth investing in.

Probably finished where the club cm should do.

The goals and assists seemed very spread out amongst the attacking players in this team.

Any thoughts on where to test next?

I would look a the tactic and adjust some things if i was you.

what are the keystones in the defence? Its many goals against in the seria a when you dont score more goals with your attack is it not :)?

i dont want to critisize but maybe you should adjust something ?

Hey Anders I agree with what you're saying. What I'm doing at the minute is taking a tactic which was very successful for my celtic save (winning the champions league in season 2) and applying it to various teams and seeing if it holds up. So far it's proven to be a bit of a bust for other teams. I may try a big dominant team next in another league.

The defense was a little leaky in Italy for this test but there were constant injuries to DLP, BWM, CD and WB meaning there were times I was playing non-ideal players in these positions too.
