Career Taff Attempts The Uk Challenge Ver 2.0

OK guys I'm back with my 2.0 version of @BatiGoal's UK Challenge

After both myself and @mcandrew003 both attempted this challenge we realised that moving form N.I. to Scotland after one season was impossible, so Bati very generously updated the rules to state that you can remain at your current club until you can land another job but remaining in the original order

Northern Ireland > Scotland > Wales > England

So here is my new attempt with the updated rules (I have placed most of the info in spoilers in case you only want to read the main news)

So I decided to start over with the same club and the same striker

IMG_0644.thumb.PNG.cce601796810c4f7e5d66311bc5745cd.PNG

So I begin my journey once again at Cliftonville FC and am sticking with....

IMG_0645.thumb.PNG.90c3478302f2ed31442bb4eff0ae192a.PNG

Daniel Hughes as my go to man

So lets get straight into it

Here's the main bit of info for you all, Hughes managed to match the current domestic target my early January

IMG_0689.thumb.PNG.20d0407dba9fe40e039f448dcec2aee3.PNG

Then the next game gave him the record 28th goal

IMG_0690.thumb.PNG.e9d52e43a0070db2a59f0fbf4eff4f12.PNGIMG_0691.thumb.PNG.1be2377ee3cd830a3e03b9c8fc39dce2.PNG

A beautiful counter attacking move finished with perfection by Hughes thanks to a lovely chip over the out of place GK

IMG_0692.thumb.PNG.9c9c37b7f02bf76753b5145b20e60d1a.PNG

So with the record in hand he set off to put more distance between himself and the 27 goal target

IMG_0710.thumb.PNG.7914aa3b5f65e88dc1077d1965f89066.PNGIMG_0711.thumb.PNG.8d2ee758373103985f135ddf075d9efa.PNG

He finished the season 1 goal better off than my first attempt, but had played more games, he started well netting 28 in 32 games but dropped off towards the end of the season

(mostly due to constant tactic changes), but he has scored 16 more goals than required but I'll have at least another season at Cliftonville and will try to boost that amount next year

Here's our League and Cup info

Spoiler

IMG_0697.thumb.PNG.b57b3db4cc9534db9e3ccc7774791c92.PNG

We won the league comfortably (forgot to screen shot the table but we ended roughly 18 points clear of our nearest rivals)

As for the Cups we went one better this year claiming 3 out of 4 (two finals won on penalties) but still a better haul than last time

Here's our season fixture list

And finally the team stats and some end of season awards

Spoiler

So I will remain on as the manager of Cliftonville and try my hand at a few jobs if they come up but from my previous experience I need to boost my rep and hopefully another successful season will do just that

Catch you on the Flip Side

Great to see you better your score. At least re-playing the challenge was worth something.

Big thanks to you and McAndrew for giving this a go earlier and I think now I can say the challenge is perfect.

Can't wait to see how your journey thru the UK unfolds. Get those records!!

Well played mate, I'm actually finding it difficult starting again, well done beating your record! Would it be ok with you if I continue with my other one from 2019?

Not a problem, it's within the rules so yeah go ahead. Player-wise who knows maybe you're even better off. Now get those names onto the leaderboard ;)

Cheers mate, just to clarify is it the best score in NI that counts over the seasons I'm there, cause my Striker is having  a howler and I'm more foucused on boosting my rep and experimenting?

@BatiGoal

Yep, best score/record per country counts.

@BatiGoal I was doing the other challange you did and after a 3-0 win against barcelona it went dry for me :(

You need to run a perfect season to get that one. Keep trying tho ;)

Season 2 (The Wrath of Cliftonville)

So here we are again and with still no job offers from the SPL I remain at Cliftonville for a second season

This year I had a little transfer money to play with so I went shopping (fun thing to do with a small club in Ireland but never the less managed to get some good buys

Spoiler

IMG_0737.thumb.PNG.5d944ef5da27cf39df550b4986ae823e.PNG

Connolly was brought in as a good RW option, Marshall a very good find at RB, Garrett and Routledge help to sure up the Midfield and Breen was brought in to help out in CD

Also cleared out some players who weren't producing so SEE YA!!!!

Spoiler

IMG_0738.thumb.PNG.e83be7e11ea28d1fc9b371bebecad956.PNG

I really didn't want to let Knowles go but at the end of my first season nearly all the team required new contracts and all of them would not sign until I granted them the "Big Club Release Clause" which I had to do in order to keep my team together, the rest were unwanted graduates or players who kept playing up in training who I promptly got shot of

The team had a belter of a year securing the league title for the second year running

Spoiler

IMG_0730.thumb.PNG.b5a2bae7cae05fed116b55feb995d1d9.PNGIMG_0732.thumb.PNG.1186232d59ce3caedbc7905cddc8eb3e.PNG

Another good league campaign, could have been better upfront but still a decent gap on our nearest rivals

We also had a killer run in all four cup competitions

Spoiler

IMG_0724.thumb.PNG.49773e4a47bf43a2e7310439ef57609f.PNGIMG_0723.thumb.PNG.8972a9da71e3833036ee681955ad80de.PNGIMG_0726.thumb.PNG.a131c22689e20ad3986ea280187bc6cd.PNGIMG_0727.thumb.PNG.fdb1fac977f92aff21d0b31aea0ddbed.PNGIMG_0729.thumb.PNG.a3ebbe977389a427de1b3b62f665bf1c.PNGIMG_0728.thumb.PNG.4491ce0c8473482e26ee9bb0a166bed1.PNGIMG_0734.thumb.PNG.d506fb4a0cd073311d538085f3b6ca69.PNGIMG_0733.thumb.PNG.03f2ab259b959ea96e659d41e452c3fa.PNG

Winning all four Cups was a great achievement and I'm sure someone at Glenavon is cursing my name to the heavens

We had a decent run in Europe too, making it all the way to the final Champions league playoff game, where we were unable to beat Olympiakos, but we were put into the Euro Cup group stage, where we proudly finished last but still a good thing for the Irish boys

Spoiler

IMG_0725.thumb.PNG.2a74c6251c28275406f1924ec98aee1b.PNG

Now how did Mr. Hughes get on could he improve on his tally from last season

Here's how his stats and history look at the end of the second season

Yes he could (only by 1 goal but it still better)

Here's the Season Fixtures

Hughes leading the way upfront (but must say that Murray played well when asked, and the assists coming in from the Wingers

And Here's the end of season Awards

Spoiler

IMG_0751.thumb.PNG.f1f5d0eede00361765701fa8501a9895.PNG

Hughes rightly so claiming the POTY

IMG_0752.thumb.PNG.a5839f6b1ece1801ba3be0f4933af828.PNG

My new RW just misses out of the YPOTY

IMG_0753.thumb.PNG.5576f2e878a335470e7f9f780ff3a440.PNG

And after winning the League and all four Cups I'm obviously the runner up in the MOTY (WTF!!!!)

So a slight improvement on last season, but most of my players are now on contratcs with "Big Club Release Clauses" so if I have to remain another year things could get interesting

Stay Tuned

P.S.

A special award this season is given to Cameroon who must be the most persistent bunch of guys ever

IMG_0754.thumb.PNG.d833e48f54bb50283a20ce3237b8bd87.PNG

8 times by the end of the season I had rejected this job offer, but you keep trying guys LOL

Fantastic season mate, well done on beating your score, what's your Rep at now?

Still really low

Doing what's needed, likely should have took the international job to boost your rep though.

I didn't think it would help but I can give it a go

It's an international job and more games so can't hurt. Especially if you manage to claim a WC or ACON title.

Great season mate. Maybe next year focus on Europe as that will raise your rep more than just winning the league

Already knocked out of Europe so that's out

Good season Taff. Take the job, the ACON is a walk in the park in game.

I have accepted the Cameroon Job so hopefully a decent INT experience will give my rep the boost it needs

Season 3

Still no joy with anything in Scotland so we cracked on and on the advice of @Ashez I accepted the Cameroon Job to try and boost my rep

We begin this season with most of my star players being poached away thanks to that annoying clause

Spoiler

IMG_0783.thumb.PNG.1f0f5019233621b660c9b25553bc3825.PNG

We lost our second best striker Murray, three of our star midfielders in Garrett, Routledge and Winchester and our start RB Marshall but what can you do, they wouldn't have signed without the clause

But we did manage to bring in some replacements who helped give the squad a much needed boost

Spoiler

IMG_0782.thumb.PNG.b68ca0fb21b02436fd2732680561faab.PNG

Curtis was brought in as a solid RW/LW option, Clucas and Gorman were brought in as replacemnts for my departing midfield players, Redman and Mitchell were brought in to sure up my FB's

Kun was the big buy of the season and a great find for our defence (and looking at his stats I think £250K was a steal (this was towards the end of the season but still)

IMG_0764.thumb.PNG.b2e2b9f589a65be453462e2b238b71d7.PNG

We have another great season in the league

We won the League with 7 games to go and ended the season 33 points clear and managed only the 2 losses all season

And manage 3/4 of the domestic cups

Europe was a non starter this year not even making it out of the playoffs

Spoiler

58bec66d35bd1_IMG_07891.thumb.PNG.6af61757ec6ee6886ad1260c8a8f5007.PNG

We managed a decent second leg scoring 3 away goals but couldn't manage to get through after loosing 0-1 in the 1st leg

Now on to the main man and after a slight improvement in his tally last season I was hoping to once again get his numbers up (might as well try to get as many as I can out of him before I finally move to Scotland (if I ever do @BatiGoal)

We stuck with the same tactic as last season (my attacking 442 with slight alterations to the player roles up front LF now a PCR and RF now a AF) and Hughes just went hell for leather straight from the off

Here's his goal tally at the beginning of January

IMG_0759.thumb.PNG.80af2c9d87567fb69756da3f5aaca854.PNG

34 goals from 32 games and at this rate I'm hoping to get 60 goals out of him

Here's how he finished the season

IMG_0784.thumb.PNG.71a43444b0f44da4b745e064b02c0389.PNG

52 in 52 a great season grabbing 8 more than last year, but as last year he seems to drop off towards the end of the season going 2/3 games with nothing, but 52 is a great tally for the season and one I'll be happy to leave Ireland with

Here's the full season fixtures

Hughes king up front once again, but David McDaid was very impressive in the AF role scoring almost 30 goals himself

Connolly and Hughes both top the assist list from the RW and PCR positions (Hughes could have scored 10 more if he wasn't so selfless

Here's some end of season awards

Spoiler

IMG_0787.thumb.PNG.e3f13bac54f3f9a3598ff406254b03cc.PNG

Hughes once again claims the POTY but a very strong season for his striking partner McDaid as well in the runner up spot

58beca162bc6d_IMG_07901.thumb.PNG.a807b4b1802ee9c3c07039287600291d.PNG

My new RW grabs the YPOTY

IMG_0788.thumb.PNG.d79d81728a4ce35055d7ef5d1053c20a.PNG

And I miss out on the MOTY once again (not even a runner up this time) because winning the league and 3 cups just isn't good enough

Cameroon

So as I said at the start I took Ashez advice and accepted the Cameroon job in a bid to up my rep,

IMG_0757.thumb.PNG.ed8a8b0d37f3c3626c8b0bd6110ea4a7.PNG

I used the same tactic here as with Cliftonville and I took over as the team got ready to take part in the African Cup of Nations

and well

IMG_0763.thumb.PNG.ef52acd43385c9658ec72e0e918a5ef2.PNGIMG_0762.PNG

We take the Cup in very straight forward fashion, and also have a very surprising win in the following friendly games

IMG_0785.thumb.PNG.9530c9b4ec72ba8b94d40bebba7c1e32.PNG

We walk through the Cup and also manage an excellent 4-3 win over Argentina so how good am I!!!!

So onto the next season and hopefully a move to Scotland (If not my next bit of advice is to concentrate on Europe and hope to do better there

Stay tuned folks

Great stuff, mate. 52 is a lovely number. Just think about this once you do manage to move to stage 2 the challenge is yours for the taking. And with 52 bagged already you could set the bar high on the leaderboard. KIU!
