Sorry no it's Cockers trying another attempt at @BatiGoal Latin Europe Challenge **Take 2**

Firstly some reasons why I've started again for those who didn't see read or keep up with my last attempt.

1. Fall off a horse - yep get straight back on

2. Because I think I've learnt from my mistakes

3. Plenty of people who did follow my path have encouraged to keep at it and not give up, so that's why I'm here again.

4. Many other reasons, but mainly because it's brilliant trying, I've played this for many years, I've got Oldham to win everything, Staylebridge to win everything, and even took Wealdstone to the premier, not including all the other leagues like Spain, Italy etc, this is different and gives me a new purpose why I purchased and play the game.

So who did I start with for stage one...

Stage 1- Italy

Yes the mighty Juventus as my first club. Mainly I didn't want to stall to much on the fiirst stage, I learnt from before you need the right club for the start to "get this done" and who better than the leading club in Italy.

I started this with all the rules obeyed, I don't even have a coaches badge I yet, I want to earn them as I attempt the challenge.

Transfers

As you can see I strengthened the midfield immediately, plus brought in a different Goalkeeper, even Huguain was no good to me as I thought there was someone different that could help me conquer this Stage.

Note: I apologies now, yes the great Buffon was relegated to the pits of reserves to end his days at 38, he was a brilliant servant to the club

So who is the man for the job, I didn't really have to look to far, the club already had one of the greats to easily pass this Stage with flying colours, who is it you say..

The Strike - Stage 1

Yes Paulo Dybala, the future 100 million pound kid who is simply one of the best in the business, truth be known I should use him at a later date, but why when he's already at the club and ready to use in my armoury.

Simply everything he needs to fulfil the role required to score the 38+ goals required to get past Stage 1

I said he would be a 100 million man, didn't let me down.

How did I do as a manager first...

Yes I know most people win these with Juve, but all that can only add to my reputation for future jobs right.

Last but not least, did I past the golden number to allow me to move on to Stage 2...

So it's Stage 2 for me, hopefully I can get a top club early as to not have to waste a season that has already started...

Would love to know your technique for selling players, in my attempt I was struggling to get remotely close to those figures for higuain, sturaro and asamoah!

Thanks @Brenty92 hope for something big do I can move on, last attempt I think I did 8/9 seasons in France, don't want to do that again. 

As for players being sold, because it's not about the money as such in this challenge, I simply put them up for sale and, well I simply barter until a good price comes up??

I couldn't get more than 4/5 mil for sturaro or asamoah, was hardly worth selling them in the end lol never mind! I'm on stage 2 with bordeaux in my 3rd season atm

Stage 2 started

So Monaco it is, they are 9 games into the season, been knocked out of the Euro cup by Motherwell so there's a few games missed.

Update...

So there isn't any transfers allowed, so I've gone with a player I already have in my squad...

So just to make sure we are clear this is him from taking over, 10 matches played and scored 2 goals...

Lost my first game to AS Saint-Etienne, but since then...

His goal tally now...

So not bad return, 11 games 18 goals, maybe I can surpass the goal tally with this guy???

Season Update

Since taking over Monaco I only made some quick simple freebies in Transfers.

Zongo was a good buy, the others did ok, but not really winning material.

League Finish

Not bad, only loosing 3 games since taking over, drawn to many games to ruin my final position.

Added the French Cup to my cabinet, can only raise my profile for the future.

Final Stats of Carillo

He looks the part, and can do well, I think his creativity let him down, so I've got a few weeks ahead to make my decision on whether to invest in someone else, more to follow...

Final Goal Tally

Good, but not good enough, 32 goals since taking over is a good attempt, but just not good enough, with a few extras to enhance the team, and get rid of a few dry wood players, and next season could bring me success...

Season 2 Monaco

Apologies to @Gonzolito but I didn't stick with Carillo, just thought I needed someone with a little more vroom, but thanks for the support to you and everyone else.

I did a little homework this time before I realise I've wasted 8 seasons trying to beat this stage, so reading other challenges and others taking on this challenge I decided on someone new, someone everybody knows and as at some stage in their careers probably bought and lavished under this guy... who you say...

Yes the one and only Davie Selke, sheer class and in all I have read a prolific goal scorer who should blast this Stage record and project me into the dizzy heights of Stage 3 after only 1 full season in charge.

Selke Stats

No explanation required to be honest, sheer class, again I am thinking is he the player I should be leaving until later in my career, but it's down, here we go...

So I kick off the season, hoping he will fit into the side ok and be able to play within the formation and tactics I use... well...

What a start to his Monaco career, not only scoring a first game hat trick he picks up man of the match and wins us the Trophee des Champions... wow

Further update later on how he does for me and wether I can crack this stage with him.

Just for a little giggle, is someone laughing at me for not reaching the final stage in time to complete the challenge on the last attempt... lol

Oh well maybe later, at least I have now reached (again) my Gold Coaching Badge, got to be better than a Blue Peter one...

Update...

Stage 2 - Season 3

So my Monaco team have improved on last season in the league standings, but they wibbled when it came to some of the big games, but I didn't do to bad as this update will report.

So as before, what a chance I could of had, it's not fair, maybe later...

Anyway enough dreaming, back to reality and show you how I did.

Won a couple of cups along the way...

But how is this for being close, had a chance to win this on a single penalty, but he fluffed it resulting in a penalty shoot-out...

Final League Standing

Not bad, a little disappointed that I couldn't claim top slot, but I suppose building a team in just under 2 seasons to win what I did plus finish second behind the might PSG I would say "job well done in anyone's eyes"

Davie Selke Final Stats

His stats say a lot about his future, I was surprised his value didn't go up a little more as he was top goal scorer plus his contribution to the team, but not my problem soon... have I reached Stage 3, all looks good so far...

Final Goal Scoring Results

What can I say, if I get them sort of stats in the next Stage I will be soooooo happy, so it's Stage 3 for me, no good showing you the Job Centre as currently it's empty, so I'll just have to be patient...

Just as a quick look at my overall stats as a manager, surprised with such a small time I've risen to WorldClass and No1 ??? But not complaining :-)

Well my latest update...

My little side project didn't end well...

Didn't loose a game, but 2 draws killed off all my chances of getting through...

My best result was beating Spain, so the team are more than willing to reach a good level in the next World Cup maybe...

Stage 3 - Braga

Might be not the best idea, but I want to get on with the challenge, and from past experience I could be wasting time waiting for one of the big clubs, but these have a good past history...

So my Stage starts, they are currently 10 games into the season and sitting 14th in the league...

So I have my hands full for the rest of the season getting them into a winning side, might leave the striker until end of season, see how things go...

Hi everyone, I'm not one to moan, but come on is this a joke...

So to set the scene, I've taken on Braga in Stage 3 and I'm not doing to bad, BUT, talk about biase, I took on the might Real Madrid over 2 legs, loosing 1-0 at the Bernabeu which is a good result, but then the second leg...

We totally dominate the game creating 13 shots on target out of 23, but only score 1 goal, ok I can accept that, quality defence, brilliant keeper, blah blah blah...

The resulting penalty shoot-out, you have to be joking me, 1 goal out of 5, come on game, let the small teams win sometime!!!!!

Anyway, update end of my first season on its way, maybe choosing the underdog might not of been a bad choice...
