Help 4-2-3-1

 Share

Recommended Posts

I'm a manager of Ebbsfleet..and I just got into the League 1.. My problem is that I come across a lot of AMCs who are really great but because I never needed that role, I ignored them.

However, a certain player who featured for my team in the Vanarama and League 2 stole my heart and now I would like to try out a 4-2-3-1 instead of my old 4-3-2-1. The problem is that I concede a lot of possession, allow the opposition much space and chances with this change, which wasn't observed in my old formation. I need tactical advice from seasoned fellows in this group. My current players are young..the oldest should be 19 or so (self-imposed restrictions). Please, help me. This is my current set up:

One easy thing would be perhaps to change your wingbacks to full backs to help reduce chances for opposition as wingbacks leave vulnerbale space when attacking.

IF's like to cut inside as well so maybe change both or one into a winger to see if that helps

Q1, Have you tried 4321 in L1? Or you only used 4321 in L2?

Q2, the change of your tactics is only move one MC to AMC? the role are same?

You will concede a lot of possession as you are playing counter attack which means you are waiting to hit them on the break so possibly letting them have more of the ball . Also with committed tackling your inexperienced team will be diving into tackles rather than using their brains. I would switch to balanced for your tackling and see how that goes ( I personally never use committed). For a lower league team i would have thought that "direct" passing would be more advantageous on the counter-attack.

I have been using 4-3-2-1 since the Vanarama. I'm trying to switch now because I've got some nice AMCs who are important to the future. I just moved the middle MC to AMC. I used to play AP-BWM-AP before changing formation. Every other thing are the same.

Wow. That definitely makes sense. Let' adjust as required.
