You just weren't a good-enough manager to get the best out of him ;)

Also: how can you not get the competition system? It's, like, you know, like, very easy to grasp

I understand the league splitting seems to happen in a lot of countries just didn't understand the points system, the other leagues you keep the points you had, bloody Belgians got to make things more complicated :D

I wanted to bring in someone else but I wasn't good enough for them but they settled for some second division Spanish team who offered them 12k less a week (WTF!!!!!!)

Spoiler

Here's what I was offering

Here's what he ended up doing

Look at his stats he could have killed it in Holland (£14k less a week than what I offered him??????)

It's Ok I signed one of our old faves to be my striker, but his stats for a 34 year old is crazy and just can't believe he signed with some random team for £14K less, what a moron

Season 4

Holland

So we begin season 4 with our first full season in charge of sc Heerenveen, and we needed to bring in some fresh meat to attempt to achieve the 56 goals required.  Now as you may have seen from my previous post I tried (and failed) to sign Ronaldo but he chose a random Spanish second division team so no hard feelings

Spoiler

DIE IN HELL YOU WINKING PONCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I decided to try out an old favourite of mine

IMG_1669.thumb.PNG.81b31b570944f9153b575bf1c0deddb1.PNG

Andres Chavez has some decent stats and if he plays anything like he did back in FMH15 he'll crush this so lets get going

Here's our wheelings and dealings for this season

Spoiler

IMG_1724.thumb.PNG.e57d0a3deca85c8aee6d4827730ebf35.PNG

Brought in some backup for my midfield in Gambin and Klemencic , Svec and Rivera came in for the defence and Boer is a decent striking option from the youth team

IMG_1725.thumb.PNG.52f01e7fe0f06c2e254e9c890179338a.PNG

Just two unwanted graduates and an unwanted player going out

So last season we managed to fight our way to second place, but could we go one better and take the Eredivisie crown

Spoiler

IMG_1717.thumb.PNG.5a3fcfb580055677bc6a3d51f9a0959d.PNGIMG_1721.thumb.PNG.099d6fb0907feced201e50e353a5d435.PNG

The team had a fantastic time winning with a decent 10 point margin, but we won and thats the main thing

We also had some success in the cups this year

Spoiler

IMG_1672.thumb.PNG.6757b8584deff91d98d68d515c8d41ba.PNGIMG_1671.thumb.PNG.e7548081af44ddd839ea7e43684bb883.PNG

Chavez grabs two in the season opener to clinch the Dutch Supercup

IMG_1720.thumb.PNG.52ac9f012afd15049d2b35d212b0bdb3.PNGIMG_1719.thumb.PNG.c959da06c28c966b90b3ff4e1231bd43.PNG

The Dutch cup was a bit closer with the team needing to win on penalties but we manage it and do the domestic treble in my first full season in charge

The team also got to compete in the UCL this season

Spoiler

We make it through to the group stage after beating out Panathinaikos (1-0) and Roma (4-1) in the qualifying games

IMG_1710.thumb.PNG.837f799948196c5777caaef075748ba0.PNG

The group stage provides us with some tough opponents but we manage to top the group and progress to play in the knockout stages

We face CSKA Moscow in the First Knockout stage and manage to take them 3-1 over two legs, then we go on to face Juventus in the quarter finals, and somehow we progress after a decent 3-2 win over two legs but the semi finals sees us against Barcelona who are to good for us and we're knocked out 3-0

A very decent run and the boys did themselves proud

Now onto the important matters, Chavez and the 56 goals required

Spoiler

Well here's how his first 20 games went

IMG_1709.thumb.PNG.7edb9dec31bfd976499234480e34261e.PNG

Some good form scoring in all but 3 of his first 20 games

here's his tally at the beginning of the new year

IMG_1711.thumb.PNG.6fff3a7a96e7e8064bef8e3202fa3736.PNG

34 in 30 and only 22 left to get, shouldn't be much of an issue the form he's in...

IMG_1712.thumb.PNG.66cfc19029ec875ad6c378f15811551b.PNG

OH WHY GOD WHY DO YOU HATE ME SO 3 bloody months, and that ends any chance this season

Here's how he ended the season

IMG_1734.thumb.PNG.e246e250c539d423ea07e66c60d067b7.PNG

He managed 8 more games and 4 more goals but any other season thats a good return but I'm sure he could have done it without the injury

OH well there's always next season

Here's the team fixtures for the season

Spoiler

Some team stats

Spoiler

IMG_1722.thumb.PNG.92652875cc4b4540ab07ac22f711c188.PNG

A good season for the team with the goals coming in from all over

IMG_1723.thumb.PNG.0f9291a1391e1fc3d610d5efda8c3c0c.PNG

Namli smashed the assists from the RW/AM position

Finally some end of season awards to add to the list

Spoiler

IMG_1735.thumb.PNG.661c13d7d96d952804c3ff0f69f0d7a4.PNG

Chavez still manages to clinch the POTY even missing three months, Namli manages to grab the runner up spot

IMG_1736.thumb.PNG.8ca894bd25d9cafd08f88417ecb2f04e.PNG

I grab the MOTY award for good messure

So a good season, but could have (if not for the stupid injury) been the one that saw me move on to the final stage, but it was not meant to be so let's just crack on with season 5

Just catching up with this and for a second there I thought you'd talked Niall Quinn into coming out of retirement! (hope you get that reference :) ).

Bad luck with the injury, but you are well on the way to the leader board here. You got this.

Season 5

Holland

So after the bitter sting of Injury put last season to bed early, I decided to give Chavez another season to see if he could crack the 56 goals needed to end my time in Holland and get moving to the final stage in Germany.

He started very well

Spoiler

IMG_1829.thumb.PNG.6d9f977f467c16304c7bc9c88dbeb516.PNGIMG_1828.thumb.PNG.a7288942db927fd1bafecdb49d1021ed.PNG

We clinch the Dutch Supercup with a very solid win over PSV with Chavez netting 4 times, and the season is off to a blinder

Here's the little bit of business we conducted this season to help the squad out

Spoiler

IMG_1872.thumb.PNG.587bbed65f63f9b1c65ef25ad5f0905a.PNG

Quaison was by far and away the best signing of the season, playing a solid part in our success this year playing either up front or in the AM role.  Rode was another fantastic signing on a free transfer, joining Gbmain in the Midfield and they played very very well together.  Bauer was a great signing at RB (although he ended up playing more midfield than anything, the rest just fillers for the squad

IMG_1873.thumb.PNG.adfb48204db2728c05aef4d58a6258be.PNG

Only Thorsby going out for any kind of profit this year the rest just deadwood and unwanted graduates

So we cracked on with the season looking to secure our second Eredivisie title

Spoiler

IMG_1717.thumb.PNG.3aae6398e09abe810cae89f64cec7b44.PNGIMG_1866.thumb.PNG.68b76cfd50195c4ac548c96fed719a49.PNG

Ajax pushed us close this season but they failed to get the results they needed towards the end and we claim title #2

We also managed some European success this year

Spoiler

IMG_1857.thumb.PNG.ecb0f7f759525ba440c7ef125c8f9de0.PNG

We came third in a very tough group, so got placed in the Euro Cup knockout rounds where we progress all the way to the final beating the likes of BMG, Napoli and Valencia along the way.

The final was a very tight game between us and Leverkusen but in the end

IMG_1869.thumb.PNG.951313bf28f985a623e5d7ef22423857.PNGIMG_1867.thumb.PNG.a160dbefd122a04eb4d2f09340145811.PNGIMG_1868.thumb.PNG.f9875f1178b77a7b22acf9c543a3b77c.PNG

We run out winners after both teams gave as good as they got with the game ending 3-3 then a terrible penalty shootout which saw 7 missed and 7 scored and it ended 4-3 in our favour

Now onto the main man, and he had a good season, suffered through a few short bouts of injury (2 weeks here 3 weeks there), but how did he do I hear you ask

IMG_1874.thumb.PNG.83add7d1cac0285df059edaf2c343f78.PNGIMG_1875.thumb.PNG.560cefb1c831baf1fbdb1c2e885bdc79.PNG

He finished 6 short, and I think I'll have to try something new next season, still impressed, but he's just not consistent enough.  So another season in Holland it is, which is a shame as Germany came a calling this year

IMG_1861.thumb.PNG.331ebe08e628a87838f9453bc274d8ca.PNG

OK so it was only Koln but still nice to be wanted

Here's the full season fixture list

Spoiler

IMG_1876.thumb.PNG.6f96a915a3170dde1e9b284f7ae21070.PNGIMG_1877.thumb.PNG.a5d23d6f13e3c257e7e863be20ae2c1d.PNGIMG_1878.thumb.PNG.2094b212272a0f74b05c02485763259a.PNGIMG_1879.thumb.PNG.07122ddc3a1b2bd71f25b00c2bd72817.PNGIMG_1880.thumb.PNG.69c9ee0b24c923d28f6f81eee2a0fc63.PNGIMG_1881.thumb.PNG.5b4d4ceb3ab5c0e46280cbecbf0fc2c2.PNGIMG_1882.thumb.PNG.7afece5e76f509ebbabec6c3942bdbcd.PNG

We struggled to find a consistent tactic this year, but we did well (apart from the Dutch cup that saw us go out in the second round)

Here's the team stats

Spoiler

IMG_1870.thumb.PNG.964ad4f2ea4cf480ed6147ebd3cef0e5.PNG

Chavez obviously topping the board but Quaison did well netting 21

IMG_1871.thumb.PNG.e723e5df64f017795748703784af7cde.PNG

This was the surprise though with Chavez also topping the assist board (be more selfish dude) and Quaison coming 2nd again, he was a great buy

And finally some end of season awards too

Spoiler

IMG_1864.thumb.PNG.7c3f9fb03e30638321a675f6233998a5.PNG

The only two options really claiming 1st and 2nd in the POTY

IMG_1865.thumb.PNG.c18cb48505f66527a907530e94f7f529.PNG

And a MOTY award for me

So onto another season in Holland and hopefully our last

Cheers guys see you all soon

You'll see soon enough, started out same as my UK one where I had two strikers to see who started better, but one just got injured for 4 months so that answers that question, but my other option is doing very well at the moment so hopefully this will be my last season in Holland (I know you'd love to see me stay there so we could get a drink and have a chat, but I need to be moving on)

Season 6

Holland

So after Chavez fell short last season I decided to bring in some new blood to attempt to score the 56 goals needed

Now i grabbed one player who was a good IF option back in FMH15, and his name popped up recently (either another save or maybe someone elses post) so I thought I'd give him a go.

IMG_1884.thumb.PNG.7328345e7bc5ff03fdc040f6ff6bfbe2.PNG

Bahebeck was a constant buy for me two years ago as an excellent IF option, but this year he can play upfront so I brought him in to the team as my new first choice striker, but I also brought in a world class player on a free transfer who thanks to a 4 month injury to Bahebeck earned the first place spot

IMG_1885.thumb.PNG.0e0de8c78814abad983bf9d495987852.PNG

The man himself Sergio Aguero, took this season as his last (announcing his retirement at the end of the season)

IMG_1919.thumb.PNG.84278046c07b07c25d3533913627d0b5.PNG

So how did Aguero and the team do this year

Spoiler

IMG_1886.thumb.PNG.6c7dc1d35a840c22895167f42a7500f2.PNGIMG_1887.thumb.PNG.aa6810a020cc7e340cf48ccc895b74b9.PNG

The season started well with both my options (still testing with both early on) scoring in a convincing 3-1 win over PSV to claim the Dutch Supercup

IMG_1980.thumb.PNG.1b953afebe5d6ed8152f99dbafb9207b.PNGIMG_2002.thumb.PNG.0eaa41ee581619116ad3e6e49afef4e5.PNG

We walk the league leaving PSV 20 points behind us, and scoring a very decent 88 league goals

IMG_1982.thumb.PNG.152f3b7c85d1368f42ff9c8d64fddc6b.PNGIMG_1983.thumb.PNG.29d70e6566445cde091ee5cfa20d238e.PNG

Aguero nets again as we clinch the Dutch cup with another 3-1 win this time against AZ

IMG_1987.thumb.PNG.66b26f5dbcfd038406a79ed0420fe4d1.PNGIMG_1986.thumb.PNG.ec63091fa0638ec83a08e8175e6fc31f.PNG

And the team defy the odds going all the way beating the likes of Man City, Hoffenheim and Barcelona to bring home the Champions cup thanks to a brace from Aguero

So a truly fantastic season for the small boys from sc Heerenveen, but the important thing was how did Aguero do, well as you've seen he managed to get the goals when they count, but did he net the magic 56 we needed

Here's how his stats looked at the end of the season

IMG_1988.thumb.PNG.bbc9e0875d442a0f613cb61af9394009.PNG

Pretty good stats for a 33 year old striker,

IMG_1989.thumb.PNG.001dd70a45fb18b25be4a9de74272f4a.PNG

And he did it (just he went dry for a bit but found his form towards the end of the season, but only netted 54 going into the UCL final against Real, I thought we were doomed for another season, but as you may have noticed above he scored 2 in that game clinching the record with goals 55 and 56 (talk about drama)

So we have completed stage 2 and now wait for a move to Germany for the third and final round of the Germanic Challenge

Here's the team fixture list

Spoiler

IMG_1994.thumb.PNG.a707f181b4a19ed4353805c40909f9fd.PNGIMG_1995.thumb.PNG.2b029e3055d0fcc850ced2befbca8269.PNGIMG_1996.thumb.PNG.9fed3c03809d49191cac653459a8f0dc.PNGIMG_1997.thumb.PNG.71f19e7e507e951e1ad7fe40272c53c3.PNGIMG_1998.thumb.PNG.196081f46a07d8b8de057c47a92a4f9e.PNGIMG_1999.thumb.PNG.196e3b25993b4f650a716528d3a6ca43.PNGIMG_2001.thumb.PNG.74e0cfbb0bdfb88abd656fe0646854e4.PNG

A lot of close games this year, and having to beat both Hoffenheim and Barcelona on away goals to progress to that all important UCL final

Here's the team stats

Spoiler

IMG_1990.thumb.PNG.6597a655d094497ba723076160a2bd20.PNG

Bahebeck had a decent season once he came back netting 21 and the others getting in on the action throughout the season as well

IMG_1991.thumb.PNG.b879c1447dcc6e2b58b8cacf280f36fd.PNG

Aguero also topping the assist list was a big surprise (especially since I had him as a PCR) but being involved in 73 of the teams goals is a huge achievement for a 33 year old free agent

Here's some end of season awards too

Spoiler

IMG_1984.thumb.PNG.8126079cf03779d7d5df39bd12019786.PNG

My two new signings claim the top spots in the Dutch POTY

IMG_1985.thumb.PNG.474a0df308ff37bb991e1bf82e278f25.PNG

And I grab my third MOTY award, and boy was I in demand (especially in Germany)

IMG_1981.thumb.PNG.9f0ebcb018bfe3a1b27edfb30576c7f7.PNG

This was one of 4 job offers from German teams, but I guarantee now I'm looking to move there will be nothing

So thats my time in Holland over, now looking to get a quick move to Germany to complete the challenge and get my name on another of @BatiGoals leaderboards

Cheers guys and I'll see you in Germany

Season 7

Germany

So having (just) completed stage two in Holland, it was time to move on to the final stage of the challenge, so I looked straight into the job market and for once there was a decent(ish) option straight away, so I applied and am now ready to finish this challenge with the lads from

stuttgart.png.d27137b43c2237459f535aaa69b7dbbc.png

IMG_2004.thumb.PNG.1c1df6e6baf5a8cb50e2f93e105e4e7b.PNG

So Stuttgart are the team to hopefully see me through to the end goal of 68 goals

with that (and a little mischief) in mind) I wanted to use an English Striker (thought it would be funny to have an English player hold the record in Germany)

With this in mind I wanted to sign Rashford, but couldn't get him to sign, so after a little reminder from @mcandrew003 I went with a former player of mine

IMG_2076.thumb.PNG.fa244036f297b8eeb79cb36db0642c9c.PNG

Chuba Akpom (these are his end of season stats) but he has the pace, shooting and dribbling I look for, plus good strength and stamina and his movement and technique are also looking good

So I set off to conquer the Bundesliga with the little boys from Stuttgart

I took the very handsome budget (after I altered the wages and transfer fee) and brought in a whole crop of new players)

Spoiler

IMG_2062.thumb.PNG.d40a8db64b62d6b331025d0afe4e77af.PNG

Martinez, came in the new year as my star CD, Dolly was a good IF/W option, Christanns was a fantastic AP player and Kalinic came in as my new GK, then apart from Akpom where just back up players

IMG_2063.thumb.PNG.83d48e01d4f1ff39cca4be50b4c5e2b5.PNG

Only one sale this year but it was one hell of a sale that allowed me to bring in Martinez and Kalinic in the winter transfer window

Here's how the team got on

Spoiler

IMG_2060.thumb.PNG.d9e35eb7ea5332fddf6a55486b7b5400.PNGIMG_2061.thumb.PNG.7fd17a7c5858b6c5dba82361eaa9bb79.PNG

We manage to hold off Bayern and clinch the league title first time of asking

And Akpom decided to wait until the end of the season to have his best game by far, beating Leverkusen 5-3 to clinch the German cup in one cracking final

Now onto the important stuff, did Akpom clinch the 68 goals I need to finish the challenge....

IMG_2077.thumb.PNG.8178deaa9645d6453c85e43520d60162.PNG

AH NO, he was laughably short needing a further 21 goals, so next season I will use someone else and that person comes to us in the Summer transfer window on a free transfer, and that star player is...

IMG_2078.thumb.PNG.e09120c4d9bba79a4d9fcc6b9e45431a.PNG

Andrea Petagna, that's right Petagna (no I've never heard of him either, but look a those stats, aerial, shooting, movement, teamwork, 20 in pace and good strength) looks like a prime candidate for this (if I can get a tactic to work for more than 5 minutes that is)

Here's the boring bits (Fixtures, Team Stats and Awards)

Spoiler

IMG_2071.thumb.PNG.c51cd59f4d89d92f8f314ccc2c87ece3.PNGIMG_2072.thumb.PNG.642ab7753dfbe4f832d78708462caf82.PNGIMG_2073.thumb.PNG.2c7446c6b5f5fe25cc5aac43fba38768.PNGIMG_2074.thumb.PNG.d54e46a18a49eedc7371637eca3eac00.PNGIMG_2075.thumb.PNG.464070a35e7e3d9244240be842b1df8b.PNG

So there you have it, I need to get a lot better if I'm going to crack this

See you all on the flip side

Congrats on getting Holland out the way and it's a shame your first attempt in Germany didn't smash it. I really like the look of this next striker though so best of luck mate :D

Congrats on getting Holland out the way and it's a shame your first attempt in Germany didn't smash it. I really like the look of this next striker though so best of luck mate :D

Cheers Ash, have you heard of him, I checked his history and he was at AC Milan at some point but can't say I've ever registered him

Still a lot of time left to complete this baby so I'm not at all worried :)

Your new striker looks outstanding btw, he's gotta be the one. Gotta be.

Season 8

Germany

(First an Apology) I forgot to screenshot a lot of things this year (got the important stuff, and some random stuff)

So after falling very short last season I chose to use a great looking new free agent I picked up.  Andrea Petagna

IMG_2078.thumb.PNG.ac2d95062241efa57bdd597bbe5eb91e.PNG

Look at those stats, he looks amazing Aerial, Shooting, Movement, Pace and Strength (no regen, I checked his history, he started at AC Milan and then ended up at Atlanta until I picked him up, and looking at those stats, you could expect to pay a pretty penny for this guy)

So this was the guy I was hoping could score the 68 goals I needed to finish the challenge off.  I forgot to screenshot the other transfers and to be honest only one other stood out, Ewandro (LW) came in also on a free transfer, so lets crack on and see how the team did this season

Spoiler

German Supercup

Petagna started his Stuttgart career off in style, netting twice in a fantastic win over Bayern to clinch the German Supercup

League

IMG_2145.thumb.PNG.817b64eea58392304517f7b36da58d60.PNG

We win our second Bundesliga title (forgot to get the table, but we won by like 10 points or so, not the biggest goal tally if I'm honest, but we won the league so that's good

German Cup

IMG_2149.thumb.PNG.bc31da5c5bcefc2c5057b3f39dbdfba4.PNGIMG_2150.thumb.PNG.b43be6d5b40ae44f60e9166687e74209.PNG

Petagna scores the only goal in what should have been a much higher scoring game, but we clinch our second German Cup

Europe

The team also had a fantastic season in Europe

IMG_2138.thumb.PNG.503f2c7f17f5a781118c100c01af5bbf.PNG

We top the group ahead of my old club, and knock Arsenal down to the Euro Cup too boot

We then go on to beat, A. Madrid, PSG and Man U to progress to the UCL Final to face Saville...

IMG_2155.thumb.PNG.e68957e7976841bf6d63f4eb256b2ab6.PNG

Where we come away, Champions of Europe (I Haven't shown the game results as their important later on)

So a fantastic season for Stuttgart German Supercup, Bundesliga, German Cup and European Champions Cup winners

But now onto the important stuff, how did Petagna get on this season, well....

IMG_2140.thumb.PNG.1dd425611a29953d6ac32efa1b2f2a86.PNG

He was named WPOTY, and this was the kind of form he enjoyed this season

IMG_2139.thumb.PNG.da852dfe9b75a37e2dd8b88e06635f6d.PNG

and the four goals you see there, came in one hell of a game

IMG_2141.thumb.PNG.36f8c26586581ec4b0be54aa22ad3941.PNG

(4 Goals against Bayern, what a player)

But let's get on with it

IMG_2142.thumb.PNG.f2eab70ef9ff10a066c0391f1c75ecc8.PNG

At the half way mark were looking good, exactly half way there

IMG_2143.thumb.PNG.2d64f8138b7ae44728835f11cb8c0d48.PNGIMG_2144.thumb.PNG.e56375b16a9063389ee983d261ad5dd3.PNG

He then has 10 goals remaining with 6 (possibly 7 depending on the UCL semi)

IMG_2152.thumb.PNG.ef4b5504e1344a89cfc5d15bd98417d8.PNGIMG_2151.thumb.PNG.ab039bd4e605fc119428a2018f7e8b9a.PNG

Then with just the UCL Final to play he's 2 goals short, can he put the hammer to the nail and break the record (this is why I saved the UCL final page.....are you ready?......you sure?.........

IMG_2154.thumb.PNG.0c80dac84af56b196e110dbbe487c9cb.PNG

ABSOLUTE HEARTBREAK AS PETAGNA GOES OUT INJURED AFTER 28 minutes and that's that folks, he finished the season on 66 goals, 2 goals short, what a horrible way to end the season, but what a player

So there we have it, onto our third season in Germany, can he hold his nerve for another year

only time will tell

See you all on the flip side

But some good news for Akpom who managed to grab a player of the month award (even if he hadn't played a single minute?????????????) the joys of FMM

Mate, that's a tough pill to swallow! The FMM Devil strikes again!

Can't complain too much, he came a lot closer than Akpom did, but to get that close is horrible
