Career Like father, like son?

Gheorge Hagi. 516 games. 237 goals. 125 caps. 35 international goals. Real Madrid. Barcelona. Seven time winner - Romanian Footballer of the Year. 1994 World Cup All Stars team. 1998 FIFA XI. Named by Pelé as one of the 125 greatest living footballers. Renowned for his dribbling, technique, vision, passing, and finishing. Galatasary fans named him "The Commander". Romanians call him "The King".

No pressure then, Ianis Hagi. The Prince of Romania?

Hello, and welcome to my "Like father, like son" career! Inspired by @kylieboi88 and his "Kluivert Reborn" career, which you can check out below.

In my version of the career, I will be using Ianis Hagi, son of the legendary Gheorge Hagi. Starting with Galatasary, I will sign Hagi from his current side Fiorentina, and attempt to match his father's trophy haul at the Turkish side.

So as you can see, I aim to secure 4 league titles, win the Turkish Cup and Super Cup twice each, while also winning a European trophy.

After this, I will move to a team from one of the three other active leagues, England, Italy and Spain, and then re-sign Hagi, and attempt to win all major trophies available in that country, before moving to the two remaining nations and attempting the same.

Secondary objectives are to win World Player of the Year, as well as Player of the Year in each country played in.

So, let's begin!

After signing a deal to take over as manager of Galatasaray, I approached Fiorentina to sign Ianis Hagi.

My starting bid was not even close to their valuation, and I made the decision to just match their valuation, and spend most of my transfer budget on the 17 year old. The remaining funds were turned into extra wages to help facilitate potential free transfers or loans. Not sure yet if I'm going to sell any of my current players.

Hagi's current stats are not bad at all for someone of his age, and he seems to have very good potential.

Season 1 - End of Summer Transfer Window Update

First of all, it's nice to see the board are able to see the great potential Hagi has.

Now, on to the transfers.

Quite happy with my transfers, Cummings especially has started well, with 3 goals in 3 games, not including a hatrick as a substitute in his friendly debut, to help us to a 4-2 victory over Swansea after trailing 2-1. Forestieri and defensive midfielder Simão have also scored in one of their first few games for the club. 

As for my formation, I'm currently using a 4-2-3-1, and here's an example of a potential starting line-up.

Hagi will rotate with Sneijder, and will get plenty of game time.

And talking of Hagi, here is how he's performing so far.

His only assist came in the previously mentioned 4-2 friendly victory, and although he hasn't got off the mark competitively yet, he has made a solid start. His stats have also improved slightly.

Results have been positive, an unbeaten start so far leaving us as the early league leaders.

And as you may have noticed, also Turkish Super Cup winners! :)

A very close game, and I'm not entirely sure we deserved to win, but I'll take it! 

So already we have ticked one trophy off of the target for Galatasaray.

Trophy Objective Update

League Titles: 0/4

Turkish Cups: 0/2

Turkish Super Cups: 1/2

European Trophy: 0/1

Next update should be after the end of the January transfer window, and then after the Summer transfer window of next season, and so on.

Decent start for the boy, I've had experienced players perform much worse in the first few games many a time lol, progression is key! What other sons are in game this year? I would definitely be interested to replicate their fathers career

Don't believe him, the Ashez stamp of imminent failure is more like it. He's the Mario Ballotelli of FMM: all the gold he touches quickly turns to metal.

The only other one I know of is Justin Kluivert at Ajax. @kylieboi88 or @Ashez might be able to be of more help here?

There are lots and lots I think. Lukaku's father was a respected footballer in Belgium, for example. I also know of Sergio Aguero (Maradonna's ex-son in law if that counts), Tom Ince (Paul), there are a couple of Zidanes at Real, Kasper Schmeichel, Giovanni Simeone, Leroy Sane's father had some modest succes, Federico Chiesa

Quite happy with his performances. About a goal or assist every 2 games isn't bad for an 18 year old. Hopefully his stats increase more next season.

Nice progress first year mate, can't wait to see how this career unfolds! Cummings is quite consistent I've found, astute signings so far mate keep it up!

Little Hagi showing good progress. Nice amount of goals and assists in the 26 games he's played so far. I like how his technical and mental attributes are shaping up. Hope those physicals start increasing soon too. 

7 pts clear at the top already, that title is yours to lose. Going great!

Yeah, Cummings is doing better than I expected. Signed him a couple of times before, for Rangers and Brighton, so he's becoming a bit of a regular. And for like the first 2-3 weeks of the Jan transfer window I had no plan, so it turned out okay ?

Yeah, I think if I can keep him at around a goal/assist every 2 games this season I'll be happy. And hopefully those stats start improving soon.
