Part 32 - The Agony and The Ecstacy

2019-2020 FA Cup Final

Portsmouth vs Southampton

Notes:

1. We match Bury's FA Cup Final win in 1903 as the biggest in history

2. Borja Mayoral hits the first Cup Final hat-trick since Stan Mortensen in 1953.

3. This is the biggest win in South Coast Derby history on either side.

Europe...

It's been 12 years since Pompey last stepped on a continental stage. A lot has changed since then....

Back then we had to play 4 other teams in a group only once....

We may not have had the honor to visit the San Siro but the Rossonero had the pleasure of visiting Fortress Fratton...

... we may have lost in Germany....

.... but signed off in style at the Abe Lenstra Stadion hoping then it would be the first of many trips to Thursday Nights on Channel 5.

Until the darkness happened. 12 years spent in the wilderness.

Europa League. After 12 years, it was time to come home.

I was planning on watching your video, mate despite prefering written updates over vids, I thought let's give it a try as I'd like to stay up to date with your wonderful career. But the video is almost 40 min long. I just don't have time for such lengthy vids, sorry, make it 5 min tops and I'll watch them but just really don't have the time for it. I suspect other followers too.

How about a video + a brief summary, maybe that'll work for some of us.

That is fair - even I'll say it was hard to record that but scheduling quirks happened and the post-Boxing Day game was a South Coast Derby

Chaplin is worth his weight in gold <3

Actually surprised he's not a focal point IRL - also bit of a spoiler; him and Harry Paton are the two untouchables in the squad lol
