Career Taff Attempts The "Alphabet/Nation Lock/TT"

Taff

Hi guys as some of you may have seen (or not) I put up a new(ish) challenge idea and I wanted to have a go myself (wouldn't be much of a member if I didn't try my own challenge)

Anyway let's get on with it before I start ranting

Taff Attempts the "Alphabet/Nation Lock/TT"

Season A

So we begin with season A (no need for numbers with this challenge (unless you don't know your alphabet @Brenty92

Now we have a few options Argentina, Australia, Austria...erm...erm well thats it (unless you fancy a go with Azerbaijan)

And lets face it there is only one country to kick this off with (sorry @Real_Random but I'm still stewing after the H2H so no love for the Aussies)

So season A will follow three strikers from

Argentina.png.edf56f8d10c45a755b2000f6c5d4d119.png

Argentina

But it's not enough to pick the nation this first season also requires me to pick the team to play with, and after both my 1K and DT were played out in the EPL, this time would be no different and I decided to use a team that I have never managed before, so move over Pep Guardiola Taffman Jones is in town

IMG_2592.thumb.PNG.29a63a41528fae9391fc3dc817416e55.PNG

So we have a club and know which Nation we want to use, and it helps that one of the best strikers in the EPL is both at the club and an Argentinian

Hello my friend, it seems shocking that in 3/4 years of playing this game I've only used this guy once (during my Germanic Challenge as a 32 year old who got the record in Holland for me).  But he needs two country men to play with him, choice one was obvious

IMG_2616.thumb.PNG.2b7c23dd8bfedbdec7a026d646740257.PNG

The young genius that is Dybala and I can't wait to see how him and Aguero play together.

And for the third a little more of a left field choice, but he's always played well when I've used him

IMG_2617.thumb.PNG.9d68ca940d0cab4f1625cb210133ec44.PNG

Pratto came in as a cheaper choice having splashed around £65

M for Dybala I needed a cheaper option and his stats look good enough to me

So there we have it my first set of three to get as many as they can in season A

So I have my Team I have my Strikers, but I needed a formation to get the season onto the right foot

Here's the Tactic and Instructions I used this year

Spoiler

IMG_2644.thumb.PNG.fe09a74e771470d035e8066b1c1dc240.PNGIMG_2645.thumb.PNG.e698dcf50a19977d7c9cb1c08a7fc1f6.PNG

Your basic 343, changed the attacker roles around a few times but this seemed to suit my three players best

Not much in the way of transfers in my first season (usually with a tactic like this I can sell off all my CB's to raise funds, but hell none of Man Citys CB's are worth buying)

Spoiler

IMG_2635.thumb.PNG.ab68f4c40e4f5010f27fd06ca3b9445a.PNG

Along with Dybala and Pratto I decided to bring in a quality CD to join Kompany and Stones in the Heart of the Defense and (for me) there are none better (who won't cost £100+M) than Laporte, then Mendez came in more as a reserve LW than anything

IMG_2636.thumb.PNG.b5553641f4857b00a5a37c3e3764cea6.PNG

Zabaleta and Clichy were the only players I managed to get rid of this year, so I ended up spending over £100M on 3 players but they were worth it (or were they?????)

So the squad is set, the tactic in place and I'm ready to get Season A underway, so lets look at how the team got on this year

Spoiler

League

Well lets just say it was a cake walk

IMG_2618.thumb.PNG.92268b82dcad6d95ffe26f8ea4e13eff.PNGIMG_2619.thumb.PNG.ac8109f157116d8bf214d2f63e9d67bd.PNG

We won the league with 7 games to go

IMG_2624.thumb.PNG.06e23c2b888eb4989815f3c0c9eedf2c.PNG

and ended the year 32 points clear of Spurs and Chelsea (but fair play check out Boro and Watford in 8th and 9th well done lads)

EFL CUP

IMG_2614.thumb.PNG.e8b54102a7ec6d358cdd5cf5c0d7616c.PNGIMG_2613.thumb.PNG.7285a709766453f305b08b9931507656.PNG

Dybala and Gundogan grab one a piece to clinch our first bit of Silverware this season

FA Cup

We make it a domestic treble giving Arsenal a bit of a drubbing

IMG_2626.thumb.PNG.e20d12170383e9177c241f848e5f8c05.PNGIMG_2625.thumb.PNG.2a9cc3eb9209006e41e7278b9f6c4242.PNG

UCL

We get drawn in a pretty tough group with Barcelona, Ajax and Sporting

IMG_2604.thumb.PNG.b938110e2bbd37b1c4cdd2814dde85bb.PNG

But a near clean sweep sees us through to the knockout stages

We face Club Brugge in the first round and dispatch them 5-2 over two legs, but then have to face Real Madrid who beat us 2-0 at home and even a spirited 3-2 win at home isn't enough and our UCL dreams are over for this season

So a good season domestically but need a better run in Europe

So a great season for the team but how did my triple Argentinian front line do?

Lets have a look

Here's their stats at the end of the season

Spoiler

IMG_2629.thumb.PNG.ac504ed880c84507f3d2323b8d9746a9.PNG

Aguero looking class, but he did miss a bit of time

IMG_2603.thumb.PNG.b9909d52115a9f419522844df9d139f5.PNG

IMG_2627.thumb.PNG.29ee2fb954cc7ccc18a0116351891e95.PNG

Another fantastic looking (look at those greens and four 20s) player and the only one of my three not to miss any major time

IMG_2631.thumb.PNG.29513174ec5e06ff7e146786bc219421.PNG

Pratto played well when asked but like Aguero he missed some game time through injury

IMG_2612.thumb.PNG.97053083ae02cea0b3a60d14e24b0dc7.PNGIMG_2620.thumb.PNG.7fefc13646215d73def28fed7f674b9d.PNG

Luckily that last one came towards the end of the year

So their stats look good, but how did they get on in front of goal

Here's the histories of ADP

IMG_2630.thumb.PNG.b59d36e8ea65e49081b2b460ce47ea56.PNG

Aguero having what most would consider a healthy season netting just under 40 goals, not too bad considering the time he missed

IMG_2628.thumb.PNG.5b74e0fbed910f4b99a35e79268a945b.PNG

Dybala nets just over 50, well done young man

IMG_2632.thumb.PNG.49b62039d2f2b84e494f8938af0ead55.PNG

And Pratto brings up the rear (as I thought he might), with 28

Aguero: 38

Dybala: 51

Pratto: 28

Total: 117

Goals Scored: 117

Goals Remaining: 1383

Alphabet TT Table
Nation Goals
Argentina  117

So a decent season netting over the 100 mark, but was hoping for closer to 150 a season, but we can't always get what we want can we

Here's the boring bits

This ones pretty obvious

IMG_2634.thumb.PNG.504c5894f4c50511f67caae13c4d43d1.PNG

Surprised to see Aguero with so many assists, but him and De Bruyne come joint top

Season Awards

IMG_2605.thumb.PNG.77b3c22945f77b75d0805bf8e5737164.PNG

Dybala and Pratto come 1st and 2nd in the WPOTY

IMG_2621.thumb.PNG.8879ccab53906f69380a11fb193d4fc0.PNG

Dybala and Aguero share the honours in the EPL POTY

IMG_2622.thumb.PNG.d73fa6043781372929d393b50135f8bc.PNG

Laporte shows his class coming runner up to Harry Kane in the YPOTY

IMG_2623.thumb.PNG.5faaa3d20f1ff9354c2671123b73a769.PNG

And I clinch the MOTY award

So there we have it guys Season A over with now onto Season B, and with Aguero and Dybala to sell I think I'll be quids in for next season.

Cheers for reading and as always comments are appreciated

See you on the B side (HAHAHAHA See what I did there)

Wow this looks like a great challenge, and a great unbeaten start to mate with plenty of goals flowing. Been working on a 433 so this could be the perfect challenge to see if it could thrive. Keep up the good work.

It was one of the main reasons I wanted to do it as @AndersJ myself and a few others tried to come up with a 433 (not quite the same here) but I'm using a 433 this season and it's going OK, still struggle to get all three scoring consistently though.

look forward to following you if you decide to give it a go

@Real_Random I agree with you regarding Americans apart from Cahill doesn't really have the stamina to play the whole season for the amount of goals you want to show, and he is a little old now

What Americans? They're Aussies. Plus Cahill has Prem Experience

Sorry to hear that H2H still hurts. Maybe beating me in the Vibe Olympics will help (or maybe not:P).

Taff Attempts the "Alphabet/Nation Lock/TT

Season B

So a great first season under our belts we move on to Season B, now I tossed and turned over this decision but having already been to South America I decided to come back to Europe for this season,

belgium.png.38340d368cdf8385194592691404202f.png

Belgium

So I have chosen My country and now I need three strikers to join my team and hopefully repeat the success of last year.

Spoiler

#1 An obvious choice

IMG_2649.thumb.PNG.98da0c9dabb14c2073bd52253eba36b5.PNG

Who else but Lukaku

#2 Another player who has always shined for me when I've used him

IMG_2648.thumb.PNG.21a412f6498471fdeaa5da96259c3efa.PNG

Origi now in Blue

#3 A player who I think will go on to big things

IMG_2647.thumb.PNG.78c3dea3b90d5ec193c66817dc3fa2ae.PNG

Netted the goal that secured Chelsea the title this year and I think will be a huge talent

So I have my three Belgian Waffles, but I still wanted to improve the squad (I changed to a 433 for most of this season so needed to bring in some quality WB's as well as some other new signings)

Spoiler

IMG_2700.thumb.PNG.11816aa940f987e7ad50cdce1deb434a.PNGIMG_2701.thumb.PNG.e52ff2bf0073a0c13b8570a55f4261b9.PNG

Spend a crazy amount of money this year (over £350M) but these are amazing players and I still ended up £20M in the green HAHAHA

Along with my three new strikers I grabbed Bellerin, Kurzawa, Amavi and Ozbayrakli who all came in to be my new WB's (always buy two for each position) then Can, Obiang (who is fast becoming a favourite of mine) and Krychowiak in to strengthen my midfield

IMG_2702.thumb.PNG.cf6a427bbb695dda7cbda239c01bd10d.PNGIMG_2703.thumb.PNG.ea3c2c840c76743f22661ca09a82caef.PNGIMG_2704.thumb.PNG.0983e26ef7bdef41e86920b2ecba8ae9.PNG

A lot of players leaving this year but getting over £200M for my three strikers from last year sure did help keep the books looking healthy, then it was players who were out on loan last season who I wanted to sell, plus the likes of Sterling, Sane, Zinchenko and Roberts as I was planning on using WB's instead of Wingers brought in some capital as well, plus a whole host of free agents out the door to

So now that the squad was sorted we set out to conquer the world of football

Spoiler

IMG_2658.thumb.PNG.83020f2c565bb7d457410b5eea8a98f3.PNG

We begin the season by beating Spurs (somehow) and clinching the Community Shield

EFL Cup

IMG_2677.thumb.PNG.57d7617f80b65bd8dcaf1180ddd1b75c.PNGIMG_2676.thumb.PNG.9e6b1da54a597ca7ca6689efb78e16e6.PNG

The EFL Cup goes the same way as once again Spurs fail to beat us for a piece of silverware, but it's down to 1 goal again

League

IMG_2681.thumb.PNG.496c3150a9f335751a0fc4f9631d9864.PNGIMG_2684.thumb.PNG.8d62dd17ff0a8d04e1ced3532d20ee17.PNG

We win the league for the second year, but can't go undefeated again

FA Cup

IMG_2686.thumb.PNG.ad14af040a9280cc3ff71d9301c230df.PNGIMG_2685.thumb.PNG.e87e1ca828d31e3cc257f6fc37a841d6.PNG

We require an ET winner to clinch the FA Cup

UCL

We enter the group stages and find ourselves in a group with Dortmund, AA Gent and Maribor

We top the Group and progress through the rounds

Spoiler

IMG_2678.thumb.PNG.1ff14c3b98588a07e17aaa702bec5cb1.PNG

We secure a huge first round win beating PSG 6-4 over two games

IMG_2680.thumb.PNG.913d7e5e098874a7aed1c48449931204.PNG

Then FCP are no match for us as we brush them aside 6-1 to secure a place in the semi finals

IMG_2683.thumb.PNG.3acec9a93c248fe462df81a3f48f5ae7.PNG

We once again prove our worth as European competitors beating German Giants Bayern 4-1 over two games to book our place in the Final

We make it to the final to face Fiorentina

IMG_2691.thumb.PNG.fb4cd5fa9e863f3b6c394aac34e6a340.PNGIMG_2690.thumb.PNG.4fb610aec5a7a4c0a346d5bf12ff54d3.PNG

And for the second time in a week an ET goal is what seals the win and Man City are crowned champions of Europe

So an amazing season for the team, winning all competitions, but the main event is what your hear for and how did the boys do

Here's their end of season stats

Spoiler

Here is what you came to see the players History for the season

IMG_2693.thumb.PNG.730bb8e5ae3c77df7bd56b50e60b4139.PNG

Lukaku goes 1 better than Dybala last year netting 52 in 49 games (he missed a few 2 week/10 day spells)

IMG_2697.thumb.PNG.8736c5d602ad3db623264d10843fb6b2.PNG

Origi really took his time getting in to the swing of things but he did miss 2 months

Good work so far Taff, looks an interesting challenge to go at! H will be interesting before K. There's definitely going to be some tough years ahead for Man City.

H will be fine as I can use Holland

C is catching me out as I have three decent options in Columbia, Croatia and Cameroon

Can't find three amazing strikers for each of them but I thought it might be nice to use an African side after using South America and Europe already, but Columbia looks like the better option of the three

Can you not back up Sanchez with a couple more Chileans?

Holland is called Netherlands

I was thinking of Sanchez and the Chileans but there really isn't too many options

And on my game it's called Holland so thats what I'm calling it
