No, I resigned from St. Pats because managing club and country is too much.

John Liew named a very strong line up in his first match in charge featuring Real Madrid's James Rodriguez on Left Midfield.

Although it's a friendly but it was quite a tense match as both team had shots on target but it was Colombia who had the best chance of the game but unfortunately couldn't find the net.

A 0-0 draw in John Liew first match in charge was enough to see Colombia jump 1 place to 4th in the world rankings before the first group match of 2019 Copa America.

So 2019 Copa America has now kicked off, John Liew had a perfect start to his first competitive match for Colombia as he comfortably beat Paraguay 3-0 with Jhon Cordoba bagging a hat trick and going home with the match ball.

Liew now face one of the tournament favourites Argentina which Colombia goes into as underdogs but Liew managed to hold on to a 1-1 draw to ensure qualifications hopes are alive with Jhon Cordoba again grabbing Colombia's only goal of the match.

Colombia go into their third and final group game knowing that Ecuador must win if they have to have any chance to qualifying and Colombia cannot lose if they want to progress. Liew managed to pull Colombia over the line with a 1-0 win with Jhon Cordoba again grabbing the only goal of the match!

John Liew's Colombia are now through to the quarter final of the 2019 Copa America, unfortunately though they missed out on finishing top of the group through goal difference to Argentina.

John Liew now awaits the results from the other groups and the quarter final draw...

Colombia have drawn against Costa Rica in the quarter final with Colombia odds on favourites to progress.

After a very nervy first half, John Liew's Colombia went into the half 1-0 down but John Liew didn't lose belief and they came out the second half all guns blasting and eventually winning 3-1 to progress to the semi finals of the 2019 Copa America with their talisman Jhon Cordoba grabbing a brace and their star man James Rodriguez slotting home a penalty.

The semi final draw is out and Colombia now faces the multiple time world cup winners Brazil! Brazil hammered Argentina 3-0 in the quarter final so John Liew knows he's got his hands full coming into this game!

After a confident first half, John Liew's Colombia go into the half 1-0 up with a brilliant strike from Jeison Murillo and then started the second half confidently too and going 2-0 up with a trademark finish from James Rodriguez  before Brazil hit one back through Alexandre Pato to set up for a nervy finale.

The wait is over! 2019 Copa America Final day has finally arrived!

It was a very one sided match in the first half as Colombia raced to a 2-0 through strikes from Orlando Berrio and his strike partner Jhon Cordoba within 9 minutes before Chile pulled one back going into the first half.

In the second, Colombia stepped up another gear with Berrio adding a second goal and Cordoba completing his hat trick in the last kick of the game.

Colombia are CHAMPIONS of 2019 Copa America.

Colombia went on a good start with a win away to Peru and home draw against Uruguay.

However, in match day 3 they lost 2-0 away to Paraguay which was Liew first loss in his competitive match since taking over from Colombia but response with a 2-0 home win against Brazil.
