Career 1KC Challenge with Moise Kean in Ajax

Hello everybody. I've decided to try The 1000 goals challenge.

I will try it out with Ajax. I've been inspired by them being the youngest team UEFA Europa League finalist. 

And for my striker I'll take Moise Kean. Even though he is one of the most talented youngsters in the game it is not against rules of the challenge. So here he is

 

You probably wondering how I was able to pull £23M with so not rich team... well I got 9M plus wages to start with, put it all in wages. And in Holland league you get your new season money on July 7th. So I got another 11M and increase of wages, put in all back in tranfers money and ended up with 24M. 

Just to make it clear: absolutely NO unlockables was used. 

And surely it is a very young team and after spending all of my budget on Kean I could not afford anybody but Predrag Rajkovic and couple of free agents. 

As for tactics I will try to go all in right from the beginning and we'll see how it goes. You only could do so much with tweaking tactics and I've tried many many different ones with my other save with Liverpool. So forgive me if I use some previosly shown here tactics.

Yeah I will try my best. BTW is it against rules of the challenge to change teams? Say if I get offered to manage another team and I buy my guy there?

Perfectly OK. As long as all scored goals are under your management only (obviously ) btw might wanna change your tag to 'career'.

season 1

First thing first: goals are there, I think it is pretty good start

Here all his goals with a few game where I rested him

He did improve a little bit

So reaching 1000 goals for him won't be a problem in my opinion. Now here is bad news: Bati was right, the main problem would be to keep him around

So to fix that I have just a year or so. Will need to build up wages to get him to sign new contract. We'll see how it goes...

First year managing Ajax was rough. Very good players, but very young and very ambitious. Few of them want to move to bigger clubs. So squad harmony is very low. As far as results

And first match on in Champions League qualifications was promising 

but Man City was better team after two games. So we went Europe League. I wont lie, we barely made it out

And until semi finals we had A fairly easy opponents

I thought it was over when I saw Tottenham

1-1 away;

1-1 home and 2-1 in overtime. 

In the Final we had to play Dortmund with Reus and another super youngster Isak. Don't know how, but we dominated the game especially in overtime. But...Won it over penalties

It wasn't the only Final with shootouts

but before this Dutch Cup final we have destroyed Achilles '29

50+ for such a young chap is great. Key to keeping those ambitious players is basically doing well in Europe. Now a good spell in the CL and I'm pretty sure you get him to sign a longterm contract.

I know its the dutch league and i have "been" there, so not its possible, but its VERY impressive to do that with a KID :D! Great going!

What a season that is! Well done mate, you have done very well with the goals and winning the competitions. Kean is looking immense aswell, overall a great start.

Well done mate . Smashing 50+ goal with a kid is great achievement. Hope to see him score more goals .

@Varf what instructions do you use. Dying to use a tactic where the forward bags for fun.

@Varf would be interested to see single striker tactics. So far i've failed to create a tactics in which one player can strike this amount of goals.

Single striker? My original tactic for this career has 3 strikers, just 2 of them are DF or DLF

SEASON 2

If you ask me I would say season was a complete disaster. But I'm one of those who want all of it and want it now. 

So here are some goals

And Moise himself

I trully believe that my fear of Kean not signing contract overruled my way of handling team during transfer window. I kept my players from season one and I kept all transfer budget in wages. So I would say it was Kean's fault for such bad season. 

To be fair it started of pretty good with Dutch Super Cup and Euro Super Cup

Another good thing was when HE signed

It took me a £1.000.000 in wages to match his requirements. Good thing I didn't spend that money. 

And I guess success in Super Cups got me all these offers

It was very hard to turn down Liverpool cause my heart and soul with this team. 

Anyway... lack of players and numerous injuries made it hard. Barely made it out of CL group

and then could pass first knock out

As for the home league... I won it but look at how many draws

Most of draws were after I was leading games.

I am glad that runner-ups are from my team as well. 

 

Will see what season 3 would brind us, but I definatelly need to buy few players. Cause playing with 3-5 half stamina kids is hard.

Another good year mate, for his age 39 is very very good, wouldn't worry about hitting 55-60 until he is 21 or so. Another good year with trophies aswell, seems all is going to plan

I mean it is just me... i was so frustrated when I lost CL. Didn't even want to finish season...

Playing Ajax you were always going to be placed in a tough CL group. You did well surviving that and McAndrew is right, Kean's still a kid. Don't overplay him and certainly don't put too many expectations on him until he's 20+yo. You're very much on track to get 1000.

And most of my team still youngsters

A quality side for the next 7-8 years with few additions needed. Kean is definitely in the right league and team for the 1KC.

Yes sir. Need rotation plus couple more for 1st team. Like Dolberg... he is awesome and considered him for 1KC. but he gets lots of injuries. He was out for 9 month out of 2 seasons with different training programms

It all started with Dutch Super Cup

And again I get job offers

Back to the subject of this topic Moise Kean

If things not going to get better next year I dont know what I'm going to do... I guess I overrated Moise... He still gets top awards

This year we finally got to CL Final. It was very hard

Kean even scored in the final, but it wasn't enough. 

As for home championship, I just don't see how it is possible not to win it

On other hand I'm not as disappointed in Kean this year as I was last season. I experimented with tactics, about 5-6 different was used. Here are stats for entire team

On a side note: I do not understand my team owners, board or whoever they are... so i bought this kid, he played few games

By my board wasn't delighted with me buying him

3 passes in 2 games in my world is pretty damn good...

I have to admit doing this challenge is hard for two reasons: 1- I never ever played anything but Liverpool, 2- with tactics I used to using I end up with 4-5 players scoring 25+ goals... 

Will see what I going to get out of next season

This looks a really interesting challenge. Looks like you have made an impressive start and I'm sure you will get the 1k goals.

The 1KC is a tough challenge indeed. You must find a way to turn the other goal-scorers into providers. Maybe their position or maybe player role. Keep trying to improve the team, you'll get there.
